The Kindness Lock-In ((RFish))

Camille was still against Lochlan's proposal to introduce a dueling system, so she decided to throw one big, supervised sleepover in the gym! Since Discordia had to be patted down, everyone would be patted down as they entered. Any drugs, wands, anything potentially dangerous would be confiscated until the end of the lock-in. As it was near the end of the week, students were told to grab their pajamas and anything they needed for sleep before coming to the gym following their last class. There'd be no regular dinner due to the nature of the event, so pizzas were being prepared in the kitchens. The gym was under a spell to magically expand to accommodate all of the safe, clean fun that would be in the gym from now to the morning hours! She thought this would be an excellent opportunity for all of the students at Hogwarts to find out how much they have in common with their fellow classmates; she wanted them to get along instead of fighting!

In the gym was a table full of light snacks and treats along with various non-alcoholic beverages that were warded against any spiking attempts. Various activities were set up throughout the gym such as wizard's chess, gobstones, skittles, ice breaker activities, and so much more! The gym was adorned in star-and-moon decorations and various soothing, colorful lights. This was going to be so fun! For the actual sleeping part, students would be divided by gender, so they'd sleep on the side of the gym that led to their appropriate changing room. Otherwise, house boundaries were virtually non-existent for this event to promote harmony and togetherness.

Stepping to her podium in cute, casual loungewear, Camille waved at the students and exclaimed, "I hope you're all excited for a whole entire night of safe, clean fun! Now that you're all in here, you are unable to go out until tomorrow morning. I hope we all use this chance to get to know each other and get along! Have fun!"

It felt like no matter what he did, Albus would find some reason to hate him. At least he and Lils got along well, but they always had more harmonious interactions. Harry used to be afraid that the house would burn down if he and Albus had to share a room for any reason. It was that bad. James crossed his arms and began chewing his lip as he watched Albus walk away.

Why did Voclain think this was a good idea? The dueling system would've been a better way of handling things!

He began tasting a bit of blood as a result of chewing his lip. Ugh!

Lily wanted to say something to Albus but he had already walked away. She frowned and then looked at James, "Maybe he meant it. I mean, he is our brother. He has to love us in his own way, right?" He had to. They were family. She hated the tension between her brothers and always managed to find herself in the middle of it.

Lily looked down at her sneakers and shrugged, "I don't hate him for being a Slytherin there are a few nice people in Slytherin. So it's not that." She said still looking at the floor.

Mackenzie had been watching the potters issues and smirked a bit. She watched as Albus stormed off and decided to go and poke the bear a bit. She walked up to him and smirked, "Family problems, Potter?"

James sighed as he tried to lick the blood off his lips; this was why they shouldn't have confiscated his cigarettes! "He thinks I do over some light brotherly teasing years ago," he stated rolling his eyes. "Don't bloody get it!"

Albus stopped dead when he saw Mackenzie come up, and he couldn’t help but wish she went away. “Are you here to poke fun, at me?” he said giving Mackenzie a look, because he knew James felt he was close to him. “I’m just tired of James thinking I’m such a terrible person for actually caring about him. He’s the reason for why I resent Slytherin.” he sighed, really not sure what Mackenzie plan was.

Mackenzie was going to say something when he started going on a rant about his brother. She raised an eyebrow and waited for him to finish, "Maybe you shouldn't give a fuck about them if they don't give a fuck about you? They've got eachother in their nice cozy lion den. Who do you have in the snakes?"

Albus looked over at Mackenzie while she spoke about he shouldn’t give a fuck. “He is so fucking selfish, and he claims I’m the selfish one.” he said with a lot of anger towards his brother. “I got Scorpius, who doesn’t pick at me.” he sighed. He didn’t know why he was talking too Mackenzie, but James had a lot of anger.

"I feel that. I have a bunch of sisters and they can be very aggravating." She said with a slight chuckle, "You need more than just Scorpius, you know?" She said with a smile, "It wouldn't kill you to branch out and make some new connections with the people in your house. For example, this is the longest conversation you and I have ever had."

Ptolemy was watching the Potter brothers fight, although he didn't catch much of what they were saying. It sounded as though they were trying to accuse one another of being uncaring, or something. "Oh would you look at that," he murmured, in mock sadness, as Albus went storming off, "Such a shame. Then again, such a situation to take advantage of..." He eyed up Mackenzie Riddle as she went to Albus's side. "What do you think, Alayna? Should we go and look out for our kin?" He nodded pointedly towards Mackenzie and Albus, hoping she would catch onto the idea of bothering James more by approaching his brother.

It was taking a long time for Lien to get through the queue entering the gym, so he was reading all the way to the front. When he finally got there, he already heard raised voices from within. Of course. That wasn't going to be the only time an argument broke out. Wait - wasn't that James's voice?

Just as he was wondering that, however, they took the book he was reading. "What!" he cried in dismay, and it was explained that all suitable reading material was contained within the gym already. Infuriated now, he made his way across the place. James was there with his sister. He was rather red-faced and fuming. He gathered that it was his voice that he'd heard. "What's going on?" he asked, looking between him and Lily.

His chewing of the lip immediately ceased upon Lien joining them. James took a deep breath and felt instantly refreshed and relieved. He couldn't help but smile.

"Al tried to apologize for having his wand at me only to throw one of his usual hissy fits 'cause I told him he shouldn't have made something he wasn't involved in 'bout him."

He wished he could at least have a guitar string to pluck.

"Awh, how sad," he said, giving her a big, long pout of dismay. "If they really were your friends, they would be upset that you're on your own, but it seems to me that they're quite content without you. Humans are always selfish when they form intimate relationships: they simply have no use for you anymore."

"I see... well, try not to get too heated up about it. Your brother seems as though he has quite a few issues of his own to deal with."

It was probably where he agreed to there not being wands: the entire gym would've turned into a purge.

He put his hand on James's shoulder sympathetically for a few moments, before dropping it again. "I have no idea how we are supposed to sleep. They took away my books as well. Apparently there's 'appropriate reading material' already in here. Something tells me it's going to be fables and fairy stories..."

"I dunno, I'm gonna see if Andy's up for diggin' out a tunnel. Oi, Andy!" He called over his friend, and looked at Marilyn sitting by herself.

"Hello Hazel," he said happily, looking at her. He wasn't entirely sure what she meant, but he was smiling anyway. "Why do you think that?"

"This entire bloody family has issues."

James was feeling the lack of nicotine strongly; he felt more irritable in general, and once he needed to take the withdrawal potion, he could kiss any chance of relaxing goodbye as it only increased his insomnia.

He wished Lien's hand stayed right on his shoulder. A part of him just wanted to wrap his arms around his waist. This gym was going to drive him mad.

"They took away your books? Fuck's wrong with them?" Now he felt especially grateful to not have brought his guitar. "Some bloke got his guitar taken. I almost brought mine too." James began rhythmically snapping his fingers. "Don't bloody know what I'm supposed to do with my hands. They took my map! AGAIN! And my yo-yo! And my fags!"

Taking a cup of juice, Jerome saw Ellie enter and stand beside her sister. He walked right over there. Just because her sister had a problem with it, he wasn't going to shy away from approaching his own girlfriend. "Hi Ellie," he said, giving her a kiss on her cheek. "We should stick together. I've got a feeling things could get nasty, quickly."

Hearing Wade, Andy waved from where she was.

Oi! Wade! This shit sucks!"

"Okay, stop that for starters," he said irritably, taking James's hand and putting it back down to his side. The clicking was awful. "Think about the map - I know you've studied it meticulously. And you said you'd plotted out the newer areas. Was there any way out of here that isn't through that door." He nodded to the door where students were being patted down.

As he stopped snapping his fingers upon learning that Lien found it annoying, James began pinching the hems of his jumper. That'd do. Thinking, James looked up and hummed thoughtfully. "For some reason, I noticed that there's some sorta window in the changing rooms...."

"I'm going to run back and kick it!"

She then did just that to no avail. At least it wasn't as painful as it'd be for most of the school.

Seeing that his brother was already busy tormenting some poor girl, Dartagnan made sure to keep away from him. But he was already struggling here. Humans... everywhere. So close he could feel the heat of their bodies, fuelled by their blood. He could hear the drums of their hearts inside his own ears...

He stood far out, away from them all.
