Not Train-ed for this

Ugh. New year, same old nonsense at school. Whatever. Storm was done with it. At least her stupid sister was finally out of school so it was time for some peace of mind this year. Or well, as much as was possible. She was seated in one of the coupes in the train with her luggage very much stacked in a way that made it very clear she wasn't interested in company. Not that it was likely to deter certain types of people...... The annoying social ones. The ones Storm couldn't manage to irritate away by being abysmal company.

Chloe was bit excited to go back to school and explore more of the school library. The girl tried to find some place to sit. This is when she walked into one where there was girl from her house. She is sure she was in it. She had seen her in the common room before. She smiled at the girl. "Hey," she said with a weak smile. She put her stuff away. "Others were so crowded already," she said to her just in the case, she sat down and opened her book to read. She wasn't very chatty kind of girl.

At least it was a Ravenclaw! Storm was antisocial enough to need a moment or two to remember the name of the girl, especially since they weren't in the same year. Or both on the team. After wrecking her brain for a moment she wriggled her nose. "Charlie? Chloe? Claire? Something like that?" She asked rather bluntly. Everywhere was full sucked, but the girl seemed to at least be the easier type. Not the overly social one. The more innocent type that made Storm almost itch to see if she could be corrupted. If that wasn't too social for the Ravenclaw. She wouldn't want the younger student to get hurt for befriending her. So irritating. "You any good at potions? They could sit in awkward silence, but Storm figured she could give socialising a try at least. Maybe. Gross.

Chloe looked at the girl and just chuckled when she tried to remember her name. "It's Chloe, so you got it in the end," she said to girl when she sat down after putting her stuff away. She hated when they were on her way. When there was question if she was goo in potions she had to remember how well she has done in them. "I could say I'm decent. Not the prefect. I haven't yet blown the classroom up," she said with giggles in the end. "What about you?"

Storm shrugged. She wasn't all that invested in making friends. Or in anything at all except graduating and finding herself somewhere nice and isolated where nobody was going to bother her. Odds of that happening? Hopefully very good, probably just acceptable. "It's my best subject. I like it because it's unobtrusive." She admitted. It didn't get one noticed unless ones teacher decided to point out you had skills. She just made sure that she only actually properly displayed her skills when they were for exams and tests, pretending to be average the rest of the time. She hated being the center of attention after all. "What's your favourite?"

Chloe looked at the girl and nodded her head. She seemed to be nice and not mean at all. Anyways she wasn't here to make friends, just to talk a bit, so this train ride won't feel so boring in the end. "Oh I see," she said with a small smile. "I would say History of Magic or then Care of Magical creatures. Rest classes I'm not doing that well," she said with a small smile. She had known about magic by now four years.

By merlin the girl had to pick the most boring class and the one that always felt like it was for people that liked animals more than people. Not that they were wrong, but Storm had a preference towards potions and other crafts over people. Animals could be woefully unpredictable and dangerous, sometimes just like people. Plus they weren't exactly plushies or dolls. They had feelings and thoughts of their own, which Storm did appreciate. She just also appreciated her alone time a lot, which did not include much in the sense of other living things, except maybe plants but even that was a stretch with how many magical plants had opinions and personalities of their own. "History bores me. I prefer to use my brain anyhow. Not for memorising but for analysing and figuring out new things. I'm considering becoming a potions inventor after graduation." Not that it mattered. Though if the girl wanted tutoring or anything she could bother to ask. Storm figured that she could still learn from the mistakes of others.

She knew not many liked the subjects she did but then again they fasicnated her. As she never before knew anything about it. "Well their interesting to me. As new things. Being muggleborn hasn't been easy. Just potions is hard for me. I always mess things up there. General magic is something where i do struggle at times. Just insecurity gets in the way," she said with a sigh at the end. She was always very insecure of her casting. She hated it. She just hated to mess up, even if she did it always in the end.

Storm could almost feel the hairs on the back of her neck raise up in dread and suspicion the moment the girl said she was a muggleborn. Storm had extremely bad experiences with those. Still, as a history nerd and fellow Ravenclaw she had some points going for her that kept Storm from just rudely walking out. She twitched slightly and pulled a face. "Yeah, history might feel more normal. Doesn't require that much wandwork and if you're good at studying I imagine it can be easy." Plus history nerds bad at spellwork most likely would be most dangerous holding one of their thick books or something. "Potions is both a science and an art. If you have good instincts and an understanding of the basic principles it's not that hard." It was knowledge based in the end, after all.
