brotherly love ((addanc))

Wyn was studying for his first Transfiguration exam of the year and he wanted to do well. He had very much valued doing well in school and making the Bulstrode family look good. He also liked school and could spend hours trying to get his schoolwork done and learning new things. He had been sitting at the one of the tables and writing down notes, to help remember the subject that he was learning in that class.

He helped him comphrend things more. Plus school was important.

Addanc skipped into the common room with delight after going to the gym. He still wondered if he was dreaming! He went to let off steam just to leave with a boyfriend of sorts? He didn't even make it to an actual punching bag; his frustration was replaced with joy, a nervous joy with a first date looming over him.

He spotted his brother and ran straight to the table, hastily taking a free chair. "Yo, Wyn. What are ya doin'?"

Wyn didn’t know what to think when Danc came in the common room in a good mood, but he let out a smile. “I’m studying and this is the most attention you’ve given me. What is up with you?” he teased.

“I have a Transfiguration exam” he said as he began studying. “Are you good at Transfigurations?” he asked hoping for some help from his older brother.

"I went to the gym and now I got a boyfriend," he responded with a grin as he leaned back in the chair. Addanc was wondering if he should pinch himself. All the gripes he has about not making the team practically vanished after that. Nobody could accuse them of cheating or having a conflict of interest!

"I'm average at it? I do pretty well I guess, I get E's..."

Wyn didn’t know what to make of it and he let out a raised eyebrow. “I didn’t know you had a crush. Who is it?” he said giving his brother a bit of a confused look. He knew it was looked down upon, but he was going to be here for his brother. “I am supportive of you.”

He said giving his brother a smile on his face. “I need some help. They already are giving exams.”

He hated when this happened, but the first month was coming to an end.

"Okay I sorta knew I liked him like that, but I didn't notice that it was reciprocated. So, I, uh, didn't know those feelings were mutual until he hit on me in the changing room..."

It was nice to know that his brother was supportive considering a certain branch of cousins, but Addanc didn't know how he'd take an unavoidable aspect of his boyfriend's life.

"I'm dating Tuck."

Addanc stopped leaning back in the chair to see what Wyn was reading. "You're bein' tested on that already?"

Wyn had been glad but he knew the Burkes and Bulstrodes would lose it over him being a boy. “You know the Burkes won’t be supportive of it.” he said letting out a sigh. They were far too prestigious, but he had done his best to keep his family appearance. “I am still am here for you, but we have to play the part when we are around the rich kids.” he pointed out with a huge disdain in his heart.

“Tucker Boot? What made you like him? Isn’t his family like descended from Isolt Sayre?” he pointed out. He knew the Burkes were far too high class. “I know our parents will love it? Didn’t find any of the Slytherins guys attractive?”

Addanc nodded, not sure why his brother felt the need to bring that up. That was like saying the sky is blue.

"They don't like me, what part is there to play when I can just be myself?"

He couldn't understand why his brother would want to act like that. Sure the Bulstrode vault was filled with galleons and various family trinkets, but they weren't the type to flaunt it. Why did Wyn want to uphold that image when their family didn't practice it anymore?

"I like him a lot, he likes me a lot it's that simple. You're overthinkin' it. You really think I pay too much attention to lineage?"

Wyn let out a bit of a sigh. “I’m sorry Danc. People just expect so much. I know our parents don’t but you know it’s hard when we know Aunt Millicent is probably talking shit.” he pointed out. He loved everyone, but he tried to look good in Slytherin since he knew it meant you could be alienated.

“I jsut want to get through my Hogwarts years. I know you don’t. You are so comfortable being yourself and I love that about you.”

“Just be careful since I know people will judge you.”

"Have ya actually eavesdropped on the adult conversations, Wyn? She fucking hates her mum-in-law, but she stays 'cause of love and for our cousins' sakes."

That was why he was genuinely surprised that she kept the Bulstrode name and made sure their cousins were technically born with it. The Burkes weren't like that, especially since the vast majority fled Britain to escape potential persecution following the First Wizarding War. Addanc had nothing better to do sometimes.

His brother obviously meant well, but he wasn't going to take any advice from a younger sibling seriously. "Yeah, did ya think I didn't know that when I befriended Tuck? When you join the real world, you'll learn that it's always in the back of your mind!"

Being a year older definitely meant he joined the real world.

Wyn had in a lot of ways been very lost in the idea of Slytherin's beliefs. He wanted to prove that he was worthy of being part of the Sacred Twenty Eight. "Well it's hard when you are married, but you know we have an image to keep. I know our parents are good people, we are just in a very prejudiced house."

He needed to prove to Slytheirn he was worthy.

"I am just saying, there is no reason to be a dick. I just want people to like me." he pointed out, since he wanted to seek the approval of Melanthius and Hector. "Hector is a dick."

Sometimes, Addanc wasn't sure how he ended up in Slytherin. This was one of those times. Unlike Wyn, he wouldn't say he was ambitious for anything other than quidditch nor did he desperately grovel for approval.

"You told me to be careful 'cause people would judge me. I bloody know that! You think I'd date a werewolf without knowin' that? I signed up for it, and I'll deal with it!"

The words that just came out of Danc’s mouth had made Wyn’s heart sink. He had to be out of his fucking mind to be dating a werewolf they were tainted. “You are fucking insane.” he pointed out. Werewolves were monsters and could kill anyone in their path and Wyn feared for his brother.

“What the fuck are you thinking?”

"I like Tuck, he likes me. I find him hot, he finds me hot. I think he's sweet, he thinks I'm sweet. Him bein' a werewolf never entered the equation for me," Addanc answered, completely unsurprised by Wyn's response. "He can't help being born that way, Wyn! It hasn't been a hindrance to his quidditch obligations!"

Wyn did believe that werewolves shouldn’t be reproducing. More werewolves meant more dangers and he didn’t think anyone in Slytherin would approve of it. “I don’t care if you like him there has to plenty of gay guys in this school who aren’t going to kill you since werewolves are horrible.” he pointed out. He knew he had to try and hold the Sacred Twenty Eight beliefs since clearly Addanc hadn’t been able too. “What do you even see in him? I mean it’s fine to love who you love, but a werewolf really? You are out of your damn mind.”

It stung that his brother's support eroded as soon as he finally uttered the word werewolf, but it would've been much more astonishing if there was unconditional support. Most wizards were still wary of creatures! They saw the classification status before they saw the person.

Frowning, Addanc stated, "Tuck's a wonderful bloke and an amazing quidditch player! Y'think I'd ignore that over something so stupid? Tuck being a werewolf doesn't cancel out who he is!"
