summer 2020 ((riddle fam))

Ah, the sweetness of independence. Medea could taste it on her lips. No longer was she obliged to attend lectures. No longer was the need to innocuously break curfew if there was something urgent she needed to figure out. No longer did she need to be stuck in the same castle as Mackenzie 24/7. It was her and her twin's first summer since departing Hogwarts, and she was ecstatic. The remainder of her life was now on her terms. It was going to be valuable time as she needed to build all the connections and potential allies she needed to one day, hopefully, lead the down-low Death Eaters. To Medea, it was her rightful duty to take on such a role decades down the line as a result of being one of the elder Riddles. However, this was currently the least of her concerns.

She and her sisters had just finished up a shopping spree with their mother when they had gone to meet Lochlan and their brother to meet up for lunch. They had reservations for one of the fancier restaurants at the beach resort they were spending a part of break at.

"I'm starved," Medea commented as she used her magic to transport her shopping bags back to her suite. There was no way she was going to let her latest purchases get stolen.

The absolute best thing about being eighteen and out of Hogwarts was loosening the chains of modest dress code. There were many times that Daegon instructed her to lengthen her skirt or fasten buttons of her blouse, but now she could flaunt her assets to her heart's content. She hastily changed to the new dress that she bought: sheer and showing her undergarments beneath, before she joined her twin at the table and relished in a long, relaxed sigh.

"So am I..." She sighed, but in a completely different context to what Medea was suggesting. She flashed a sultry smile at the male server who had looked twice as she sat down. Perhaps that was an after thought when the family time settled under a cloud of alcohol.

"But that skirt you bought was very ugly," She announced sympathetically, giggling at her. "Where's my Mummy?" She despaired, glancing around for her Mother.

Medea glanced at her sister's change of clothing. Well, at least this newfound freedom meant they could dress however they wanted. Those robes got stuffy and itchy.

"She might be switching her shoes for the seventh time today."

Katherine had indeed gone back to the suite before they were all supposed to meet up at the restaurant for a nice family dinner. She had been wearing the same outfit and shoes all day long while they had been out shopping and she just had to change before she could meet up with Lochlan and their children for dinner. She just had to look perfect, after all! She had changed into the perfect outfit, one that was probably a bit more revealing than a mother of so many children would normally wear, but she made it look classy. At least, she thought that she did. And that was all that mattered, wasn't it? Then she took out one of the new pair of shoes she had bought and put them on. A quick look in the mirror to check her hair and makeup then she was out the door.

The first thing she saw when she entered the restaurant was her two eldest daughters. She approached them, heels clicking against the floor of the restaurant to announce her approach. "Hello, my darlings." She gushed as she leaned down to kiss each of her daughters' cheeks in turn. "I wonder where everyone else is. I do hope they won't be late." Because Katherine was the only one who could be late, after all.
