Have you ever heard the phrase curiosity killed the cat? This phrase was one that could been written just for Summer. She has a thirst for knowledge, a love of exploration, a desire to learn and do well in school. She enjoys puzzles and new things will keep her interested for days. She is a sweet girl, albeit a bit on the shy side. She is much more comfortable reading a book or exploring than she is actually socializing with other people but she is a very smart girl and one who would be great to have on your side if you need help figuring out a problem. She is quiet, observing more than talking. She does tend to be pretty naive, though. Which can sometimes get her in trouble since she doesn't always think things completely through when she gets on the trail of something that has caught her attention.


Summer grew up the only child of two very loving but conservative parents. They weren't well off but they had a small chunk of land that they used for farming and a quaint little cottage that they called home. From a young age, Summer had harbored a thirst for knowledge that rivaled children twice her age. She was reading before she even started elementary school and had excelled in her studies without much trouble. She spent most of her time when she wasn't doing chores either sitting out in the hayloft reading a book with her best friend, a cat that had wandered onto the farm one day and never left, or exploring the land around their little farm. She never knew that there was anything out there. And things were peaceful and quiet for their little family.

At least until strange things started happening... They were easy enough to just overlook at first. Easy enough to explain away. But when Summer turned eleven, they couldn't explain the barrage of letters that kept being dropped on their doorstep by more owls than they had ever seen in the area before. At first, her father threw them in the fireplace and they went on with their day. Then it became a curiosity to Summer and she opened one, reading that it was an invitation for her to go to a special school! She was thrilled. After many months of trying to talk her parents into letting her go, they finally relented and she had begun her studying at Hogwarts.

There was so much for her to learn there, so much that she never even knew existed and her little mind soaked it up like a sponge. She got top marks in all of her classes but excelled most in charms. She was also great in potions but transfiguration was always much more difficult for her. As was flying class when she took it. She has been one of those girls that just remains under the radar, even to the point that she can't bring herself to raise her hand in class to answer a question even if she knows the answer because she doesn't like all of the attention it brings when she does get called upon.
