summer's gone ((rose))

Hugo gulped as he looked at all of the food that started appearing on the table in front of him. They all looked so good. It reminded him of his grandmother's cooking; she always cooked for a whole village, so he had to remember to try and not eat too much or his tummy would hurt as his mum would tell him. He was finally at Hogwarts with most of his relatives. That was crazy!

Where was big sissy anyway? Mum and dad said she was the first to go for help as he learned to be independent. Getting up from his seat, he walked around the table until he found his older sister.

"What are you doing all the way down here, Tulip?!" He nicknamed her Tulip simply because it wasn't Rose.

Rose sat with a group of her friends that she hadn't seen since school had ended the year before. All the while, she kept glancing over to where she had seen her brother take his seat. She knew that he was looking forward to the whole experience of starting school, so she wouldn't hover over him like she wanted to do. But she would be keeping an eye on him from a distance until she knew that he was doing alright. This time when she glanced over, though, he was no longer in the seat.

Instead, his voice was behind her as he asked what she was doing there. She turned and smiled to her brother before scooting down the bench and patting the seat beside her. "Just doing some catching up. Have you made any new friends yet?" She knew that this was a big thing for her little brother and she was excited for him. "Isn't all of this great?" She nodded her head slightly towards the table filled completely with every kind of food imaginable.

"No, not yet," Hugo replied with a frown. He didn't expect Hogwarts to be this big. "Lots of big kids here!" He felt puny and small in comparison. Looking around, he nodded. "Lots of food! I'm trying not to eat too much! I don't wanna go to bed with a stomachache..."

”You will make tons of friends, I know it.” she said with a smile to her little brother, resisting the urge to reach out and ruffle his hair in an affectionate way. He probably wouldn’t appreciate that at a time like this. ”It’s hard not to sometimes, everything is always so amazing at the feasts like this. But luckily, there are a few of them throughout the year and always good food, even on normal days.” she remembered what it was like to be overwhelmed by everything that she saw her first year, so she knew what her brother was going through. But where she had had their older cousins, Hugo had her.

"When I get my timetable, will you help me find my classes, Tulip?" he asked with a pleading expression. Hugo's cuteness got him places sometimes. "Do Walkmans work in Hogwarts?"

Hugo really wanted to listen to The Monkees.
