it'z summer ((open))

James, feeling a need to be independent, was running through Diagon Alley with his allowance and some of his savings in hopes of treating himself to a few music books when he should be school shopping; he was trying to avoid judgment and do something that was fun for him before summer ended for once.

"Excuse me. Excuse me."

Too many people crowded around in Diagon. Damn school shopping. He should've known better than to come out here during peak hours; too bad for him that he was already into the idea of smuggling music-related materials into the house.

"Um, hey, do ya know any shortcuts? I don't have my apparation license."

Azazel was out retrieving some supplies for his master and for this thing called school, which he had no idea about. He was just told that he was to start attending at Hogwarts and staying in a cabin on the grounds. Hearing a voice that he thought sounded familiar but he thought that it could not be. No it could not be James his first love there was no way that the voice of the stranger could be his.

None the less he found himself being drawn to the voice and could not help but smile when he realized that it was a slightly older James. Azazel however had no idea if James remembered him or not from their fling a couple years back. "James?" He called out when he was within ear shot of the other.

"Hm, yeah?" he wondered as he turned to see it was Azazel. God, this was awkward. Awkward for him at least. That fling didn't have the greatest of endings.

James exchanged a sheepish smile giving a tiny wave. "Oh, hey. Azazel."

What was this thing called greetings?

"Uh, long time no see."

God, he was flushing red. He was turning into a tomato. A tomato with cold feet.

Azazel bit his lip he was glad that the other recognized him though he could sense that there was still some pain. He had no idea that his master had sent an owl to the other making it sound like he wrote it. Running a hand through his hair as he did not see this as being an awkward conversation however it seemed that it was heading that way.

"Yeah it has, umm how have you been?" He asked hoping that he could get things going again. Azazel really wanted to just hug the other though was not sure if this was the right time.

"You were looking for a shortcut I know a lot around here, though I was thinking of heading over to the Leaky Cauldron to get a drink. Would you like to join me?" He asked hoping that the other would say yes as he had no idea when he would be able to see him again.

He looked down at his feet as he waited for the other to answer. This was the most outgoing thing that he had done in a while and he hoped that he would not be rejected, but he would understand if the other did not want to join him.

James bit his lip as he began unconsciously fiddling around with his shirt collar. "Same old, same old." What kind of reply was that? They hadn't talked in two years!

Internally, he was panicking as he had no idea what to do. He did not expect or prepare himself to be in this kind of situation.

"Sure. If it'd get me away from all these people."

Potter blood lead to some sort of dislike for claustrophobia.

Azazel gave the other a smile and led him through the crowd to the Leaky Cauldron. He was really glad now that he was given all afternoon to get everything, he was halfway done his list already so what would a little break be.

Walking to the bar he ordered himself a butter beer and asked James what he wanted. Azazel was hopeful that they could reconnect and let the other know more about him. It was his master that wanted to keep them apart and he did not want that he very much wanted to be the other's friend and more if he wanted.

'I'll get a butterbeer too," he responded. James would've gone for something a bit stronger if he wasn't a few months too young.

It just seemed weird to him to have bumped into someone he never thought he'd talk to again. "How's life?"

Azazel sighed at the question he was not sure how to answer it, having someone else making decisions for you really was not a life but he was stuck whenever he tried to escape it he ended up finding himself face down on the floor withering in pain. "It is good I guess though sometimes wish I had more freedom," He said knowing the last part could seem weird but he did not know how to tell the other that he was and indentured servant though the term his master used was apprentice which seemed to cover up the fact that he did almost everything in the home besides studying whatever he decided to throw at him that day.

James gave a small frown as he attempted of a way to spin it positively. "Adulthood will be here before you know it. I know I want to move out as soon as possible."

His heart ached thinking about years ago.

"Why did you stop seeing me?"

Azazel gave a small laugh, he sure hoped that would be the case, however he doubted that he could get away from his master so easily. Taking a sip of his butter beer he pondered how to answer James's next question, it was not his choice to stop seeing him in fact he wanted to run away with him so badly.

"Umm, I honestly did not want to stop... I was more forced to stop by the man who raised me and demands me to call him master," He replied hoping that it would not scare the other off, he wanted James to know everything about his life no matter how painful it was. Talking about his master was not something he wanted to do but it seemed to be necessary at this point, as he wanted James to know that he never stopped wanting to see him or loving him.

"Really..? Sometimes, I still try to call hoping that maybe the number would no longer be disconnected."

His first heartbreak. The relationship with Blanche didn't remotely count as they were both young and it was before James realized something. Back in those days, dating was used really loosely anyway.

"I still haven't told anybody."

Azazel just nodded he really did not want to stop seeing James, as he felt they had a strong connection unlike the girls or guys that his master had offered him. When James said he called his own number a frown fell on his face, he hated that he had to drop everything that he had given him.

Azazel took out a piece of parchment and wrote down his new number and gave it to him. "Here is my new number, only call after midnight that way we both won't get caught," He said with a smile he really was glad to have James back in his life.

James smiled as Azazel gave him his new number. "Thanks."

"I think we should start seeing each other again."

How? He had no idea. It just had to be somewhere away and secluded.

"How much time do you have? I can afford being out here for another hour or so."

"I would like that," Azazel responded when James suggested that they should start seeing each other again, he really would risk everything if it meant that he could be with James. Brushing some hair that had fallen into his face back he just continued to look James over he was purely happy to have him back as his boyfriend, this time he would protect the relationship with his life.

"I have another hour before I am due back," he replied as he placed a hand on the table. Azazel really wanted this, he wanted James to he his.

"Well, what do you want to do while we have this hour?" he asked the other with an interested smile. "We could go to our old stomping grounds..."

@Azazel Baptist

Azazel really liked that idea, why not go back to where they first met if just made sense to begin their new relationship there. "Yeah that sound great," He said as a small smile crept across his face as he thought about them back where things started a couple years ago. He knew he was going to let James know whenever he was sent to town before he was shipped off to Hogwarts, as he wanted to spend as much time as he could with the other now that he was back in his life. Finishing off his drink, he waited for James to finish his as well before heading out the door to the fateful playground.
