Addanc was relieved to be heading back to Hogwarts. Yeah, he had to deal with his snotty posh cousins a lot more often, but the first match of term didn't feel too far away. He was finally going to be at home: on the pitch with his beater's bat in hand. He heard rumors of Ravenclaw getting one of their players back this year, but he didn't know if that was true. He was extremely divorced from the elite pureblood Sacred 28 bubble because his parents didn't like to get involved. If it was true, he needed to do a lot more training so his house had a better shot at getting the snitch. Sighing, he stretched and extended his legs onto the seats opposite him. He could probably nap here...

Cecelia had been desperately searching for an empty compartment but had no such luck. It was her own fault after all. She couldn't find her favorite sweater and she needed it for quidditch games in turn making them late to the platform this morning. She groaned as she decided she would have to join someone else's compartment. She saw her cousin inside one of the cabins and opened the door to step inside, "Hi Addanc. Mind if I join you?"

His eyes were fluttering to a close until it ended up being interrupted by one of his posh pureblood cousins.

"Cece! Don't ya have friends somewhere?" Addanc wondered with a yawn. He really should be thankful it was Hector. He was such a bloody toad he wanted to give a swirly to.

Cece shrugged and took a seat, "I mean not Really. I don't really do.... People." It was true. She didn't really associate with others. She usually kept to herself. It drove her mother crazy that she had no friends and hardly liked to go into society. She much preferred to stay home and work on her drawings or her stories. She loves to disappear into that world

Addanc glanced at his cousin strangely when she mentioned not having any friends. The fuck?

"Ya don't even got another bird to gossip with? Even bloody Hector has more friends than you!"

"It's not that I don't have friends. I just don't like being around lots of people." And that was true. She had friends in away. She and persephone rowle were close at times. She was nice enough. But she hasn't seen her anywhere on the train, "Where are all of your friends?"

"I thought that'd be Thius since he's always counting to himself, but guess not."

Addanc shrugged and sighed. "I don't bloody know," he answered as he patted his bat. "Do ya think I got a good shot at making beater this year?"

He didn't know what he'd do if he got placed on the team but in a different position. Even a reserve would be more respectable if he got to keep being a beater.

Cecelia wrinkled her nose a bit at the remark on her brother's antics but kept quiet. Better to not start an argument. She was thankful for the change of subject and smiled encouragingly at her cousin, "Oh I'm sure you have just as much of a chance as everyone else. Especially if you've practiced and worked hard." Merlin that was so Hufflepuff of her. She frowned a bit as she thought of just how different she was from the rest of her family.

"Yeah, but that's not enough. Slytherin's fuckin' bureau-borror-borrorcratic? 'Cause I'm a half-blood, I'm not favored."

Ironic since the Riddles were half-blood, but since they were Voldemort descendants, that automatically made them as equal as the rish posh pureblood pricks.

Addanc crossed his arms and glanced out the window.

"Not gonna lie, Cece, I thought they were gonna disown ya the moment you were sorted."

What kind of Bulstrode or Burke ended up in Hufflepuff?

Cecelia frowned a bit, "If you are talented and they don't take you because of your blood status then that sounds like their loss to me." She crossed her arms over her chest and raised her nose to the air a bit in a very Burke manner. That went away at his next statement and she sighed, "I did too. I still think my grandmother may one day..."

Yeah, it would be their loss, but what could he do about it? That second wizarding war or whatever didn't do shit to change Slytherin blood politics.

"I'm glad she ain't my grandmum," Addanc grumbled with a sense of relief. [b]"She hates me just for being your cousin!"
