seasons change ((open))

Her fifth and final year at Hogwarts; it was surreal to think about. It wasn't all that long ago that she came to Britain as a wide-eyed American girl who was still dealing with the newfound knowledge that she was a witch. Since then, she made quite a few friends within and out of her house and made some good grades. Cherry couldn't believe that it would be over in a few months. In a few months, she was going to have to figure out how she was going to move out of her family's home and get herself fully integrated into the magical world.

She didn't have to worry about that for now. Instead, Cherry smiled to herself as she read the day's issue of the Daily Prophet in the compartment she was lucky to find.

Ethan had been wandering from compartment to compartment saying hi to a few of his friends. As he made his way down the hall, he looked into a compartment and saw Cherry. He got along with the ravenclaw girl well enough. Plus they were both American. He knocked on the door before sliding it open, "Hey. Ya lonely in here?"

Cherry's attention from the newspaper was diverted when she heard a knock and then the opening of the compartment door. When she saw it was Ethan, she smiled at him and replied, "Only a little bit! How was your summer break?"

Ethan stepped inside and took a seat, placing his guitar on the empty spot next to him, "It was good. I got some.good music finished over the break. I'm excited to test some of them out this year." Ethan practically loved for his music career, he had to make it big some day.

@Cherry Darling

"That's awesome!" Cherry replied as she folded up the newspaper and set it to the side. "How many songs did you write?"

"Got about three new ones done. And about 10 times the amount thrown into the trash can in my living room. Something was blocking me this summer. Don't know why though." He said with a shrug. He didn't normally have problems with writing, but something had been gnawing at him all summer. The only problem is he had no clue what.

For a moment, Cherry began to smile, but it quickly fell upon mention of his songwriting struggles. "That sounds like a bad case of writer's block!"

Her brain was more academically-inclined; she could never consider herself a creative in any form. It wasn't exactly encouraged at home, especially since she was expected to fit into a mold until her magical abilities were discovered.

"Did you go on any vacations?"

"That's exactly what it was. But I pushed through it!" He stated rather proud of himself, "When we get to school I'll have to play some for you." When she asked if they went on any vacations, he nodded, "My parents took me and my sisters to Disney, it was super fun for them." His younger sisters had indeed had a blast on their trip.

"Cool! Just let me know when, okay? I have so much NEWTS prep to do this year!"

Grinning, she replied, "I'm glad y'all had a good time! I've never been to Disney... My parents think it's too worldly..."
