sensory overload ((open))

Lazar stumbled onto the train with his luggage in tow. So far, no big meanies had gotten in his way. Nobody mean were pestering him yet. He was going to enjoy the extremely overwhelming sensations as long as they lasted. Well, he couldn't say that he was enjoying them. Every noise rumbled through his ear as if he was hearing his dad's band without hearing protection. His jumper was scratching him a bit too much. He winced as he strolled down the carriage trying to find an open compartment to settle down in for the train ride.

Chase hates riding the train to school. She has to deal with boys practically throwing themselves at her and she never really understood why. She wasn't anything special. She wasn't small or pretty or good with people. She hoped to find an empty compartment but was having no luck so far. She signed and made her way onto the next car and managed to find an empty compartment, "Excellent" she said as she entered the compartment. Maybe she would get lucky and no one would notice her. But that never seemed to happen for chase.

Just as he was ready to slide into a compartment, the most gorgeous angel walked by him, and Lazar needed to find out who he was. A grand surge of confidence filled his veins as he walked in front of the compartment she entered.

"C-c-c-cuh-can I j-j-j-juh-join y-y-you?!" Lazar asked sweetly as he clearly itched to get inside ASAP.

Chase looked up and tried to hide the disappointment as someone entered the compartment. A male someone, at that. Already tripping over his words and practically drooling over her. She didn't understand why they did that. "Yeah that's alright." She said, hiding her face behind her blonde bangs, hoping he wouldn't bother her much.

When he was given the go-ahead, Lazar immediately sat across from her in awe. His jaw dropped so low at the sight of her beauty that it was like it could fall off its hinges at any second.

"I-I-I'm La-La-Lazar..."

Chase tried her best to ignore him until he introduced herself. Her mother would be beside herself with embarrassment if she was anything but a proper young lady. So, instead, she lifted her head and gave him a polite smile, "It's nice to meet you, Lazar. I'm Chase." She said, and leaving it at that. She wasn't the best with people.

"Y-y-y-y-you h-h-h-ha-have a p-p-p-puh-pretty name!"

He continued to look at her. He was unable to pull his eyes away from her luscious face. Chase was the most gorgeous girl he's ever been around! Of course he wanted to stay in proximity of her! Everyone has to know that he staked claim first!

Chase laughed when he said her name was pretty, "Really? It seems a boys name to me. Or a command to a dog. Like 'Go chase!' or something along those lines." She had always hated her name. She wished her mother had given her a more feminine name; like Penelope or Samantha. But nope. She got the boy name.

"Chase suh-suh-suh-suits y-y-y-you!"

Lazar was in a trance as long as he and his eyes remained transfixed on her and her awe-inspiring glamor. He had no idea a girl could be so gorgeous like a goddess! His glasses began to fog up and obscure his view.

Chase smiled a bit, "I guess so." She was blushing a bit which was so embarrassing. She didn't get flustered over boys saying sweet nothing's to her, "Why are you not sitting with friends?"

Lazar took off his glasses and cleaned them with his jumper before sliding them back onto his face.

"I-I-I d-d-d-d-don't know whuh-whuh-where they a-a-a-are!"

Chase giggled a bit as he wiped off his glasses, but she didn't know why; probably the nerves. "Well that's a shame, isn't it?" She felt for him though. She didn't have many true friends, herself; mostly just guys that gawked over her and girls that were intimidated by her for some reason.

"Th-th-th-ther-there are a l-l-l-luh-lot of puh-puh-people this y-y-year..."

His cheeks turned rosier as his gaze fixed onto Chase yet again.

Chase nodded in agreement, "Quite a few transfer students too." She had noticed there were a lot of people who like her were not from England. She felt herself getting rather warm and removed her jacket from her shoulders, setting it beside her, "Do you enjoy any sports?" He didn't seem like the sports type, but she could be wrong and it would be rude to assume.

Look away. But I don't want to look away.

Lazar's mind engaged in a ping pong battle until he looked away just enough to continue their conversation.

He nodded. "Y-y-y-yuh-yeah... I-I-I'm suh-suh-suh-surprised..."

Hogwarts was almost always mostly British unless it was a Triwizard Tournament year, so it was sort of strange to be hearing a wider variety of accents. England's was already quite varied!

"N-n-n-n-not really..."

"I'm kind of enjoying it, listening to all the different ways people speak. The different words they use. Like for example, your chips are our French fries, and your crisps are our potato chips. It's funny, isn't it?" She was starting to babble a bit, which was odd for her, especially with someone she barely knew. "I don't do much sports either. I prefer reading and writing."

"Y-y-y-yuh-yeah...."

He wanted to get a closer look at her. Badly. So very badly. His innards were begging to get another glimpse at her spellbinding beauty, but Lazar had to not make eye contact with her. Whenever he did, he would forget how to speak. All the words in his mind would disappear without a trace. If he did say anything, it always came out stupidly. Why was it so impossible to have an everyday conversation with her like he would almost everybody else?

"Wh-wh-whuh-what's y-y-y-y-your f-f-fuh-fuh-favorite s-s-s-s-subject..?"

"I enjoy history. I like to learn the different cultures of creatures as well. Such as my history, the Veelas." She said with a small smile, "I also enjoy charms. It's my best subject. What about yourself?" She asked, wanting to learn more about him. He was a sweet guy, someone she could definitely see herself being friends with.

She also loved history?! Chase wasn't just an angel, she wasn't just the most beautiful girl he ever laid his eyes on; she was his dream woman. He must be dreaming! He needed pinched!

Actually, no he didn't.

It'd just startle him. His arm would ache too. No pinching then.

"I-I-I l-l-l-luh-like history t-t-t-t-too... It's v-v-v-vuh-vuh-very informative..."

Chase nodded in agreement before looking out the window at the changing scenery of the country side. She loved the country, she was a city girl herself, but something about the country was so peaceful and serene, "What is it like at home for you? Do you have siblings?"
