Emery hadn't liked the new changes that had been implented at Hogwarts, since she knew the school was now in the hands of the Slytherins, and Emery didn't like it. She also didn't like being away from Connor, but she also knew that if she wanted her son to be successful, she needed to finish school.

She had done relatively well on her OWLS which she didn't expect. She knew that the next challenge would be her NEWTS, but she was glad that she had her position as Quidditch Captain back. She had decided to spend her morning working on some assignments before it got too stacked up. Emery had dipped her quill in ink, and began taking notes for Defense Against The Dark Arts, hoping no one would bother her.

Faolan had taken to just wandering around the castle since he had returned to Hogwarts. He had surprisingly missed being there when he had been at Ilvermorny and he had never thought that he would even think to miss being at the school but he had. Especially after the falling out he had had with Emery. She had been the reason he had gone in the first place and it had all blown up in his face. Things had gotten better between them over the summer though.

So when he rounded the corner of the study area and saw her sitting there, he took up the seat beside her. ”Burying your nose in the books already?” the term had only just started!

Emery looked up when she saw Faolan and gave a small smile. "It's keeping me out trouble. I'm trying to go this year and not get pregnant again. So investing myself in my studies is my plan." she said giving him a smile. She knew last year that she was not in the right headspace, so she wanted to fix that this year.

"I'm also certain our new headmaster wouldn't be lenient with me." she said with a shrug. "How about you? I thought you hated investing time in your studies?" she chuckled.

Faolan chuckled at her words. She always saw things in such extremes. He didn’t think she had to spend the year with her nose in a book to avoid getting pregnant again. ”You know you can have plenty of fun without getting pregnant, Em. You don’t have to spend all your time studying” he told her with a bit of a smirk. Of course, he probably wasn’t much help for her not wanting to get pregnant since they had been hooking up off and on at the time she had. If things had gone a little differently then Connor could have been his child instead of Medina’s. Wouldn’t that have been something?

”Oh, I’m not wasting my time studying. I was just walking around and happened to spot you. I thought you might need a little company or a break or something? How long have you been at this?” he frowned down at the book in front of her.
