Another year, another opportunity. This time, Rosemary decided she was going to have a picket sign in her compartment that said "Free the house elves!" Why not stir a little controversy and get her classmates thinking as they headed to Hogwarts?

Aveline raised an eyebrow at Sadie and rolled her eyes "Sadie. Chill. They're just doing their thing" she looked at her as she sat down in the compartment "what's got your wand in a knot so early this time, Sadie?" She didn't care if the girl was her house mates. She was annoying as hell

He wasn't on the same wavelength here. All the talk about protests and social justice: he just thought someone had put a joke sign out a compartment that read "Free House Elves!" and felt like bantering with Parker Cavendish. The compartment got very crowded, very quickly.

Leo pretended to come over all teary-eyed. "'Can't you just leave us alone!'" he put on a deliberately stupid voice that was supposed to be Parker's. "Grow a pair at some point, y'ponce." As far as he was concerned that was the matter settled. He pulled another piece off the rope with his teeth and chewed it loudly in Parker's face.

Then Sadie and this other chick turned up.

"Sade's hostile when she hasn't had the D." He smirked at her, then quirked his brows at Parker.

Pandora had grown bored so she decided to mess with the house elf girl again. She walked towards the compartment and smiled even wider when she saw Sadie "Sadie! Thank Merlin you're here" she said hugging her friend. When she looked at the sign again she pouted " you ruined my editing job. I liked mine better" she said as she rolled her eyes

Damn, Rosemary wanted to jinx those Slytherin bitches. What was their deal anyway? She really wanted to give them some jelly legs. What better way to start the year? Wait - there's that anti-intruder jinx. How would it work in this context though? Might as well go for the safe option.

Pulling out her wand, she aimed it at Pandora and whispered, "Langlock." That'd show her! Rosemary looked over at Ingrid and smirked hoping that she aimed it well.

Hmm... What was she going to do about Sadie?

"Don't you all have something better to do? Like, I don't know, not being absolute bimbos?!"

Pandora was shocked when the girl hexed her and blinked a few moments as she couldn't speak. The jinx eventually wore off and she glared at the girl "little mudblood bitch" she said gripping her wand before sending a jinx of her own back at her "Densaugeo"

Ingrid watched as the car started filling with chattering students, each one with their own two cents about house elves, and their fellow students. She coudn't help but laugh, enjoying the chaos, until Pandora had to stick her head in again and start shit.

When the hexes started flying, Ingrid jumped to her feet. Pure instinct pushed her to defend her friend, even if she had started it. "What the bloody hell?" She shouted, pulling out her wand and whipping a curse at Pandora, "calvorio!"

Pandora saw the other girl jump in to defend her friend and easily blocked her spell "what? Your little mudblood friend can't fight her own battles?" She shouted and sent a curse at Ingrid "levicorpus!" She then turned back to the mudblood "you're dead bitch"

Carina burst into the compartment and groaned at what she saw. Of course it would be Pandora. She pulled out her wand and separated the girls from each other "what the bloody hell is going on here? I could hear you all from my compartment. Honestly. We're not even at school yet. Am I gonna have to deduct points or are we all going to be civil with eachother?" She shouted then turned to Pandora who still had a fire in her eyes " stand down, Pandora. I swear I will hex you."

"Expelliarmus!"

"I heard there was a fight going on, and I just had to check it out." He crossed his arms as he observed the situation. "I'd rather not deduct points before we even earn them, but it'd be highly preferable if any fights on the train were kept to hair pulling. You know, the old fashioned way. Just know I won't be this lenient if this shit comes up again. If this ends sooner than later, the staff might not find out about it."

Ingrid glared at Pandora and slid her wand back into her pocket. "Oh if I had my way little miss princess wouldn't even have hair to pull. It's a little hard to be civil when Pandora's spitting out slurs like she's getting paid by the word."

She reached up and grabbed Rosemary's hand, trying to pull her down from the ceiling with little luck. "Having fun up there? Are you okay?"

"Carrow, you are a cunt and not in a good way!" she screeched rather pissed off by Pandora.

Rosemary shook her head. "Does anyone here happen to know the counter-jinx? I think I dropped my wand in the process..."

Was it possible to get restraining orders in school?

Pandora sneered at Carina before turning on rosemary "you threw the first curse. You pulled out the first wand. I was defending myself" she snarled before rolling her eyes " I suggest you stay away from me. Because next time, Malfoy here won't be able to save you" she said before storming out of the compartment

Carina shook her head as Pandora left and pointed her wand at rosemary "liberacorpus" she said and watched as rosemary came back to the ground "Rosemary you can't throw curses at people. No matter how annoying they are or what words they throw at you. It's against school rules. And Ingrid, I know you were raised better than that. To attack a girl on the first day of school. And to double team her when she's already being attacked. That's just not fair. Honestly. I really should take points from ravenclaw and Slytherin. If I hear one more fight from this compartment, I'm going to the professor's. This is your one and only warning. Do I make myself clear?"

"She called me a MUDBLOOD. Are you going to stand for that? She defiled my sign earlier! Doesn't that go against school rules? It was precautionary self-defense!"

Rosemary had heard Narkissos' stance regarding muggleborn hate, so she was desperately hoping he'd stick up for her.

"She does make a point, Malfoy," Narkissos stated. He often wondered why the school hadn't put some sort of jinx on the use of that slur yet.

"Are we really going to give a Carrow benefit of doubt when we've already seen plenty of Muggleborns still being bullied to this day?"

"Exactly, I'm pretty sure it's also against school rules to deface people's property and yell slurs at them." Ingrid folded her arms and frowned. "Pandora's trying to start a fight, so we gave her one. Ask anyone here, she's been causing trouble all day, probably up and down the train as well." Ingrid refused to let house loyalties or points get in the way of backing up her friend.

"I wish I could say it was. But at the end of the day it's freedom of speech. She can say whatever she like. But how you handled it wasn't well" Carina said to rosemary and Ingrid. She then turned to Narkissos " we also can't judge people based on their last names alone. Please try and remember what mine is and where we would be if we based people off their last name. Now as for who attacked who, It's a matter of hearsay right now on both sides." She then turned back to rosemary " just do me a favor and stay away from her. It'll make everyone's life easier."

Narkissos really couldn't believe some of the words coming out of Carina's mouth. "Carrow has a reputation. As in the one we're talking about. Are we seriously going to discard it and have it be a huge slap in the face to the Muggleborn population? Freedom of speech doesn't protect you from consequences."

He liked to think he was more levelheaded and progressive due to his upbringing. "You're telling Rosemary to stay away from her when, from what I understand, she was peacefully protesting before Carrow decided to make things go sour? Do you not take people's temperaments to heart? Do you not people watch?"

This was definitely going to be his first prefect's bathroom gossip/shit talk session talking point for the year.

"Dumbledore didn't fucking die for you to say it's fine to say that bloody, godforsaken slur!"

"I know very well of Pandoras reputation. I grew up with her. I know what a vile little bint she can be. But we can't just automatically discredit her for that." Carina took a deep breath to try and calm down " I'm going to have the same talk with Pandora. Telling to her to stay away from both of them. She stormed out before I could. But let me be the one to handle it, Narks. As I said I grew up with her. I know how to handle her" she felt her temper rising as she could feel the anger of everyone in the room "ok I need everyone to relax and calm down before I explode!" She shouted then took another deep breath " I never said it was ok for her to use that language. I just said it wasn't illegal. And at the end of the day we can't punish just one person. This was a 3 person duel. If we punish one, we punish all."

"She'd only show you her best sides! You'd be totally biased, and you would therefore be not the most fit to handle this situation. Either way, Carrow was in the wrong, and you MUST acknowledge it!"

Narkissos crossed his arms rather annoyed with the way Malfoy was acting. "Must I need to bring up your lack of objectiveness and moral?"

"I never said she wasn't in the wrong. Just that what she said isn't technically breaking any rules. However, hexing someone is. And me? Im the biased one? What about you. We all know you're an advocate for muggleborns. You hate anyone who uses the slur. But even you can't deny hexing students is a violation of school code. Now make the call Jetson. Punish all or punish none. Because that's what it's going to come down to. You want to take down Pandora, fine. But these two are going down with her. I will not stand by idly while you only punish one guilty party" Carina said still feeling the anger in the room
