Time away (Open)

Lily was definitely stressed out from the whole drama of school. Someone had already been attacked by an unforgivable curse and another student had been arrested for casting the curse. She still couldnt believe that her older brother had been there, she had no idea why he had been, but he had. She opened her potions book and began to study as she could use all the help she could get in potions. it wasnt her best subject. She soon grew bored and closed the book trying to decide what to study next. It was between Defense against the dark arts and transfiguration.

James decided to head to the library to read whatever books it had on the laws. There was no way he was going to see Azazel go to Azkaban despite his father trying to reassure him otherwise during a heated argument before being brought back to school. What the hell was he going to do? He sighed as he went through an aisle and pulled out a few books before unknowingly taking a seat by his sister. James briefly looked up and noticed her. "Oh, uh, hi, sis."

Lily looked up as someone sat beside her and noticed it was James. She waited a few moments before he realized it was her and gave him a small smile "Hello James." She said before noticing the law books "What? Did you have a change in interest and decide to become a lawyer?" She asked teasing him a bit

"It's complicated. I plan on soul searching and just living life after I graduate even if it means not having the best paying job," he responded as he began to open one of the books. "I guess you already heard what happened?"

She sighed and nodded "Yeah, I did. James, why were you even there?" She asked looking at her brother. She was genuinely worried about him. "You could have gotten hurt, or killed. Alot of the Slytherins dont like us. What were you thinking?" She reached out her hand to take his and looked into his eyes

James let out a sigh. "I was invited..." His mind couldn't help but drift off to the moment he saw Azazel getting arrested; it was a painful sight for him to witness. Finding his hand in Lily's, he briefly looked away wishing he knew how to deal with everything. "I know, sis, I know."

"James, you know you can talk to me about anything. And I mean anything. If its something youre scared to tell mum and dad or Albus. Im here for you." She said softly. SHe had always been really close to James, but as of late it felt as if they had been drifting apart, and she did not like that "is there anything you wanna tell me? Or anything you wanna talk about?"

"Well, the host of the party, the one who got arrested, is my boyfriend," James said softly not wanting the whole library to overhear him. "He's also involved with the Death Eaters, and dad isn't pleased..." He ran his free hand through his hair afraid of how his sister would react to his response.

Lily blinked a few times. She wasnt sure what shocked her more. The fact that her brother was gay. Or the fact that he was dating a death eater. "Ok... so I assume youre looking through the law books to try and find a way to get him out of Azkaban." She said biting her lip gently

He nodded as he began to flip through the pages to find any loopholes. "Yeah... If he were to end up there, I'd rather be dead as it meant I couldn't be with him." So much for James being considered the golden sibling because of Albus.

Lily sighed and grabbed a law book from his stack and began flipping through the pages. She didnt say anything about his comment of rather being dead, but she didnt want her brother to be hurting if the boy she loved were ton be in jail. So she would help him

James found himself to be rather surprised that Lily was helping him, especially since he had mentioned Azazel"s Death Eater ties. He couldn't help that he essentially fell in love with the enemy. "You think dad told mum yet? I don't feel like dealing with lectures once we're home."

"Lectures about what? You being gay or loving a death eater?" She asked, "Because in all honesty, he probably told her both things already. And Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione. But which are you more afraid of them knowing?" She asked the question because she wanted to know how to best diffuse the tension when they got home

"I feel as if I should clarify that it's possible to be attracted to more than one gender," he said as he began scanning a section for stuff regarding Unforgivables. "The Death Eater deal obviously. Our parents wouldn't care too much if it wasn't one." James hated having to point out that fact, but there was no use in denial.

"Alright youre right." SHe said nodding as she flipped through the pages "Im pretty sure youre right again. If you had fallen for a nice hufflepuff boy dad wouldnt really care. But you didnt. And they are gonna have to learn to damn well deal with it. Or they get to deal with me." SHe said confidently. SHe knew how to work her parents and she would not let them make James feel like an outsider in his own family

James sighed as he rested his head on the palm of his hand. "You and your temper," he commented with a slight chuckle. "It's so stressing as I've always been expected to be just like father, and here I am basically being everything the media would want to report on for more reads. Our parents are so disappointed in me..."

"James Sirirus Potter you listen to me. Our parents are not dissapointed in you. Theyre just... shocked. And as for those reporters, just tell them all to fuck off." She said knowing she would probably get a lecture from her big brother about watching her language and such, but she didnt care. It was the truth

"If they're not, they will be," James stated tapping his fingers on a page of the book he currently had open below him. "A lot has been running through my mind lately... As if they'd tolerate being told to go fuck themselves." He brushed off Lily's swearing despite her year and age as it seemed quite appropriate for the situation.

Lily sighed "Well they can. All those reporters can just go jump off a cliff and leave my family alone." She said throwing an arm around her oldest brother "Everything gonna be ok. I promise." She said leaning her head on his shoulder "I love you, James."

He looked back down at the book and sighed. "I'll never forgive myself if I can't find a way to make sure Azazel doesn't end up in Azkaban," James whispered. "Love you too, sis." Sometimes, it really felt as if all he had was his siblings and Azazel. He wasn't particularly close to anybody else even if he felt responsibility over them due to being related.

"Maybe we can talk to Aunt Hermione?" She suggested as it was an idea, being that her aunt was in the wizard law enforcement "She might have a few ideas. And who do we know whose smarter than her?" She said laughing

"That might be a good idea as long as dad didn't mention anything. Also, it might be a good idea to not mention the Death Eater thing. Aunt 'Mione might change her mind on us," James responded.

"Ill go with you, that way you arent alone. And we can tell as little as possible to get the answers we need. Ok?" She asked giving his shoulder a light squeeze. She had disregarded her studies the minute James had sat down. Her brother was far more important.

James looked over and nodded. "Okay... I don't even know if I could do it on my own anyway..." If he had to be honest, he'd use the dark arts if he had to. He was rather desperate.

"JUst promise me you wont do anything too crazy?" SHe asked looking her brother in the eye. She knew how James got when it caem to the people he cared about
