All this time (Open)

Over the last few years, Atticus had been used to a very strict, military-like routine. He awoke every day at five o’clock, made his bed, folded his clothes and got dressed promptly for inspection. Since coming back at Hogwarts he was still doing the things he used to, but knew there was no inspection, or shouting, or strict punishment. He just... liked doing it. It made him feel at ease.

Now that he was awake on a Saturday so early though, he had to think of things to do that wouldn’t disturb anyone else. Usually he would exercise or something, so he thought going to the pool would be a good idea. It was strange being able to do whatever he wanted. Slipping into the water and doing a few lengths felt very liberating, but already he was setting targets for himself: urging his body to keep going forward.

Lakelyn often slept in on days such as this. She enjoyed being able to sleep in later but this morning it had quickly become clear that she wasn't going to be able to do that. She wasn't sure why, she had never really been a morning person but she couldn't sleep any longer that morning! Maybe it was because they were just coming back to school and she hadn't completely adjusted her sleep schedule. Either way, she spent a few minutes tossing and turning, trying to get more comfortable before she sighed and threw her covers back.

She saw that her dormmates were still asleep so she quietly got out of bed so as not to wake them. She wasn't sure what to do so early in the morning with everyone else still asleep but she quickly decided that she would go to the pool. Usually, during the summer holidays, she would go to the beach but the pool was the closest thing they had here at Hogwarts so the pool it was!

She grabbed her swimsuit and put it on beneath her robes before hurrying down to the pool. Much to her surprise, there was someone else already there! She didn't mind, though. She liked company! She removed her robes and moved over to the edge of the pool and dipped her toes in to check the temperature of the water.
