Collaboration in Conspiracy

Ofcourse Storm had the bad fortune to be assigned a class project with one that didn't actually seem to have any studious bone in his body. Just a big bully. At least she did have the luck of knowing what bullies were like, and all in all, she stopped caring enough to fear them some years ago. Perhaps that just added to the problem, she considered as her fingertips lightly traced the hidden bruises jotted on her skin due to an encounter with a different bully. At least she didn't have to work with that guy. Small blessings.

She hadn't actually bothered to invite Thorfinn over to work on the project. She kind of figured she'd end up doing it by herself regardless, meaning he'd be more of a nuisance or distraction than any sort of help. Yet out of grace, just in case she was wrong, she'd notified him she'd be working on the project in the study area at this hour so he could bother to show up for whatever reason. Including breathing down her neck and being dis-invited for any future moments she planned to work on the project.

She softly sighed to herself as she opened up one of her reference books and jotted down some important pages she was likely to need in the future. It always felt soothing to have her hand run over the parchment as she watched the ink sink into it in familiar scribbled lines. They were a focus and a sign that she had some level of peace. There was no time to write when one had to defend themselves after all. So this was good. Always good. With a smile smile tugging her on lips, she continued taking note, slowly getting entranced by the motions and losing track of her surroundings...
