Be better (Albus)

Mackenzie was zipping threw the air as she practiced for the upcoming match.. she had bewitched a few bludgers to fly at her and practiced beating them away with her bat while in motion. She had to do better. She had to be better. She let out an enraged scream as she beat the incoming bludger practically to the other side of the pitch. She hovered for a moment taking deep breaths to calm her inner rage.

Albus had known a lot of girls found him attractive at Hogwarts, and it was something he wore with pride. The Gryffiindor was riding his broom around the pitch. Till he spotted a familiar face, "Well if it isn't Riddle." he said giving her a small smirk as he drove closer to her. "Heard your captain this year. Congratulations."

He from someone that he friend Luna wasn't too pleased with the idea of it. He was still postiive that Gryffindor was going to wipe the floor with Slytherins asses. The were superior.

Mackenzie was still taking deep breaths when a voice caught her attention she saw Albus fly closer to her and pursed her lips, "Yeah it's me this year." She was happy to be captain, but she was also scared. She was only a fifth year, what if they had made a mistake choosing her? She shook her head of the thoughts and shot Albus a smirk, "You better bring your A game this year. Last year was a little sloppy." She was only teasing him of course, Albus was a phenomenal player.

Albus knew he had the blood of the greatest Quidditch players Hogwarts has ever seen. He had a name to live up to and he liked to think that he did well at trying to make sure he did well. The Gryffindor listened to Mackenzie talk, "That's good I am sure there was no better option." he said giving her a smirk. She was pretty he had to admit, and some didn't always hate on Albus particularly as they did James.

"Emery plans on us bringing the A-game. She really turned herself around this year, crazy what a messy ex can do to someone." he said speaking fondly of his captain. "How's the team? Ready for Gryffindor to beat you."

Although he hoped James had the same amount of pride they did.

Mackenzie blushed a bit at his compliments and started to wonder where the heck that came from? She didn't blush at boys giving her compliments. But something about that smirk made her feel all stomach floppy and flustered. She quickly composed herself, "Well duh, I'm the best player on the team. They're lucky to have me leading them." She laughed at his joke about Gryffindor beating them, "In your dreams, babe. You're not beating us this time."

Albus was positive people in Slytherin would disagree with Mackenzie, but the girl was good. She had to be made for captain for a reason not just because her dad was headmaster. The Gryffindor saw that Mackenzie was blushing, and gave her a bit of a smile. "You blushing, Riddle?' he commented.

"I am sure you will do a great job. Gryffindor are reigning champs and have been for years." he commented, and it was something that he was proud to be apart of it. "Did you see any matches this summer?"

"Of course not." She snapped at him quickly, hoping to deter any encouragement on his part. "we'll be prepared for us to dethrone you." She said with a laugh, "Yeah me and my dad saw the Americans play this year. We slaughtered them. It was an incredible match with Delores Putkinsley making that final score knocking a player off their broom! It was wild!"

Albus had to admit it would be interesting to see if they could beat them. He liked to think the likeilhood of them winning was going to be very slim. The Gryffindors were good and they had been for years. “Good luck you all been saying it for years and I’ll be shocked if you beat us. We can claim first and second how about that?”

"I think second place will be very humbling for you, Potter." She hovered a bit closer to him, "They are decent this year. May actually give the Irish a run for their money, but they didnt stand a chance against us." She looked him over again, he was rather yummy, "What about you? My big potter family trips?"

Albus knew Mackenzie was going to try and humble him. It wasn’t going to work, he let out a bit of a chuckle. “I have to say nice try you know.” he commented. It wasn’t going to work in the slightest and he was determined to win, and so was the rest of Gryffindor as long as James took it seriously. “We just got to make sure James doesn’t look at it as some kind of joke, because a lot of us take Quidditch very seriously.”

He hadn’t seen Ireland in years play, but he did enjoy seeing Scotland. They were his favorite team. “I have to say myself I’m a bit of a big Scotland fan. I used to be the biggest fan of Brazil, and still am to an extent.” All he loved was Quidditch and the rush that came with playing Quidditch. “We went to Blackrock.”

"Does James not take the game seriously? That's rather do, don't you think?" She couldn't understand why anyone would think Quidditch was some silly kids game. The game was brutal and bloody sometimes, that's why she loves it so much. "Black Rock sounds fun. Me and my mom and sisters spent some time there as well." Her father had been busy that day so it was a girl's day. It was weird, she saw more of her dad at school than at home sometimes.

Albus knew Quidditch had been a dangerous game to get involved with, and it scared him quite a bit. But he loved the rush and defending the rings against quaffles were his favorite. "James doesn't. He doesn't take anything in life seriously." he let out a sigh, because his brother was too reckless. "Makes me question how we are related." he sighed. They were brothers, in the same house, but complete polar opposites.
