360 (maverick)

Hazel was snuggled up by the fireplace doing some schoolwork. She had a some homework, and had the night of doing anything prefect related, so it was peaceful. She liked that and she told her siblings to not bother with this night, and do their own things.

She was reading a couple pages in a textbook. Although she knew one of the Cartwrights would end up bothering her and she looked up. "I thought I said no siblings."

One thing about Maverick was that he didn’t like to be bossed around. He did what he wanted to, when he wanted to. His own parents couldn’t even tell him what to do so why would Hazel thing she had that privilege. The thought was laughable to him. And just the fact that she had told him to leave her alone had brought him here. He sat down right beside of her, propping his feet up on the table in front of them and shrugged. ”That’s why I’m here.” he said, making it clear to her that just because she was older, she still couldn’t push him around. Even if it meant taking time out of his day to annoy her for trying.

Hazel tolerated his siblings on most days, but sometimes she just wanted to be left alone. "Don't we all tag along with each other enough we are all in the same house practically with Asher and Jocelyn in different houses." she said giving him a bit of a stern look, "You know I like peace. You guys are a lot."

"I also am going to barf the next Asher talks about Alayna."

The two were turning over a new leaf, but Hazel didn't have a crush to rave on about at times. She also was partially glad to not have anyone trying to get with her.

Maverick raised a brow at her. He was the first one to try to break away from his siblings. He was the first one to go off and do his own thing. Hell, he avoided most of his family as much as he possibly could but being told what to do had always rubbed him wrong. "Oh, believe me. I'm the first to advocate for getting away from the Cartwrights but I am also the first to want to make it clear that I'll do what I want no matter what you say." Sure, Mav was close to some of his siblings like Emery but that didn't mean he wanted to be around them all all the time either.

Mav couldn't help but to chuckle when Hazel spoke of Asher and his big crush on the head girl. "I think hearing about his little obsession with Alayna is something we can all agree that we are over hearing about." At least Mav knew he was sick of hearing it.

Hazel knew that Asher knew how to play the game when it came to getting through Slytherin. He had been a lover of the dark arts, which Hazel hadn't always agreed with. "Well if you want I could simply tell every girl your baby stories. Or even sic your twin on all of your girlfriends." she teased her little brother.

She felt like Maverick played the protector of the siblings, since Asher did his own thing.

"He literally is so obsessed with her, and I am like oh my god. She is going to hurt him. But I agreed to a truce with her, and she says that she likes him too," she pointed out.

Maverick made a face when his older sister started threatening things that she could do for him annoying her but that didn't completely change his mind about doing just what he was. He leaned back against the couch. "They'll just think my baby stories are adorable, so please, do me a favor." Then there was the part about Em and Mav was pretty sure that Hazel didn't have a leg to stand on there. "As if Em would do your evil bidding." He said with a smirk. Sure, maybe Mav spent a good bit of his time looking out for his siblings but he usually had good reasons for confronting his siblings' boyfriends.

A sigh left his lips when Hazel went on about Asher and Alayna. Not the subject he wanted to hear about but he guessed this was what he got for bothering her. "She's just come chick, Hazel. Asher can handle himself. He's not that fragile. He'll be over her in a week." Because that was what guys did. They got over things and just moved on.
