the art of war ((maverick))

Willow didn't really take her studies seriously until recently when she knew that starting at a new school meant she had to actually keep herself on track with her schooling. Today she decided to spend the afternoon doing a bit of studying in the Study Area and get ahead for the next few weeks.

She got her belongings out and began taking some notes. Today she thought she'd study up on her Transfigurations because she found the topic incredibly fascinating to learn about.

Maverick wasn't the studying type. He actually usually just skated by the best he could without cracking a book if he could help it. Sure, he sometimes had to study in order to keep his grades up enough to remain on the quidditch team and to eventually get into university and all that, but he wasn't the type to always sit with his nose in a textbook or something. No, that wouldn't be like Maverick at all.

Today was different, though. He was falling a bit behind and the fact that word was beginning to get back to his parents was quite annoying. He didn't really care what his parents thought of him, he wasn't their biggest fan or anything like that. But he also didn't want to deal with the seething letters or the fact that they threatened to make the school kick him off the quidditch team if he didn't bring his grades up. He had quickly learned that he wasn't going to get any studying done in the common room. It was too loud in there and he usually ended up just hanging out instead.

He was hoping in a way that the study area would be empty but instead when he walked in he saw another student there, he recognized her as being one of the newer students. Though, she seemed to be studying as well. He took a seat at the table nearby and took out one of his school books to begin working on one of the assignments he was missing. "Hey, you're new here, right?" He said as he got his supplies out.

Willow recognized this kid as someone from the famed family everyone liked to talk about. She heard girls in his class oogle over how gorgeous she was. She had to agree with them, he was definitely a sight to look at. A nod came. “Yeah my sister and I just moved here, and I will say the school is full of cliques.” pointed out Willow who didn’t care much for them.


She looked at him and smirked. “I bet you get told a lot that you are a sight for sore eyes.” she chuckled. She watched as he got out some of his supplies.
