Clarity (open)

Going back to Hogwarts was something what Delaney was looking for and same time didn't. Her aunt as always had dropped her and her little sister off. She just walked straight the train, didn't mother to say goodbye to her aunt even. They didn't get along anyways, why pretend. She walked straight to first empty compartment and took a seat there. She just looked out the window, she was not in the great mood. She had just another fight with her aunt this morning, how she should act nicer to people and how she should improve her grades. She didn't care about any of that.

For the send-off to Hogwarts, the Lestrange siblings (or most of them, half-siblings) were not graced by the presence of their Father. Bellona couldn't care less: she, like so many of her siblings, had a difficult relationship with Rabastan. At least her Mother was there. Except for her sister, she was the only one within the household she actually cared for.

But they had been late. Bellona didn't feel like scouting through the entire train just to find someone she recognised: they could catch up later, after all. All she was bothered about was finding a compartment, and the first that actually looked promising was occupied by one other.

Opening the compartment door, her eyes traced over Delaney. Bellona vaguely recognised her as being an older Slytherin student.

"Hey. Do you mind if I sit here?" Bellona asked begrudgingly, "I don't want to have to go down ten carriages just to find an empty compartment."

When this one girl walked into here, she just glanced at the girl and just shrugged. To be honest she didn't care if someone was here as long they didn't began to try to chat all the time. She just wasn't in the mood to have another talk with someone. The girl took a deep breath and looked at the girl once again.

"Sure, take a seat. I don't really care. It's not like I can tell you what to do," she said to the girl. She didn't care if she sounded bitter or mean even. She didn't give a damn. "We live in the free world, where everyone makes their own decisions," she added.

She didn't mind company. Maybe it would get her in better mood, but this is still to see.

She cocked a brow at the girl's indifference.

"Extremely philosophical, but thanks."

Pulling her luggage in, she took a seat opposite the girl. The only thing she kept from the luggage racks was a basket, that appeared to be moving slightly.

"I'm Bellona," she greeted. "And you are?"

Delaney looked at the girl and just gave her the half smile. To be honest she didn't care what her opinion was about what she just said. And then this girl had to introduce herself even. Seemed like she will have this conversation with her now. She wondered if she should say something back to her.

She noticed the basket and it was moving. She just shrugged and just didn't say anything. Not her business.

"Delaney," she said just with one word. There was no need to say more at this moment. She kept her eyes on that basket this whole time.

Bellona was observant enough to recognise someone who didn't want a forced conversation. To her, that was perfectly fine. They could continue the remainder of the journey in silence, if that was what had to happen. But conversation seemed to be natural here: Bellona couldn't ignore Delaney's attention on the basket she had next to her.

"Nightstar," she explained shortly, "My familiar. She's... pretty nice, to girls, at least. Would you mind if I let her out?"

Nightstar was a sleek, black cat. Her bright green eyes shined through the slits in the basket, as the cat uttered a low growl of despair. She clearly didn't enjoy being caged up like this.

Delaney never liked small talks. She hated these things with a passion. She looked at the girl when she introduced her cat there now. Oh right cats, their thing yes. She herself didn't have any pets. She didn't even have her own owl. Then again she didn't need one. Her sister other hand had one and even cat.

"Sure, you can let her out, as long as she doesn't end up in my lap," she said with a forced smile to the girl. To be honest why she should no to the girl. She could see how much that basket was moving, the cat wanted to be let out.

"Oh. Probably not."

Bellona was frowning at Delaney. Her precious cat, Nightstar, would choose her lap if she wanted to. There was nothing Delaney could do about it, Bellona thought.

When Bellona let out Nightstar, the cat dropped to the floor and curled around her owner's legs. Then, after sniffing around for a while, she jumped up on the space beside Delaney, and sat there, tail curled behind her back. This was usually a sign that Nightstar approved of someone.

Bellona narrowed her eyes.

"Don't you have a familiar?" Bellona asked, sounding slightly condescending in her tone.

To be honest Delaney just couldn't take care of cat, she just would forget to feed it. She isn't really someone who is cable of taking care of someone else than herself. She looked at the cat who now was next to her. She sighed. At least she wasn't on her lap.

"No I don't have one. Not really person to get one," she said with a shrug. She didn't really want to talk why. She didn't really care.
