where we stand (alayna)

Ptolemy had followed Alayna all the way from the room to the first floor corridor, although he had no idea where she was going. It seemed she just wanted to get away from him, her destination wasn't important. He had tried calling out to her several times, using his usual pet names and cooing gently to persuade her to turn, but she wasn't relenting.

"Please slow down, Alayna! I don't want you to fall in your condition!"

Alayna tried her best to ignore him and all his sweet pet names. Princess, angel, dear, love. All of it. But when he said he didn't want her to fall or anything, she stopped and turned to look at him, "You called me Carina." She didn't know what else to say on the matter.

"It was just an accident: a slip of the tongue. Can you honestly say that you haven't done anything of the sort?"

He was getting rather annoyed now, and was matching her glare with a glare of his own.

"Why were you being so frantic anyway? I was teasing that foreign girl, as I occasionally find her excruciating..."

"A slip of the tongue." She said with a scoff, "How long before your dick slips inside of her?" She didn't mean it of course. She knew Ptolemy would never be unfaithful like that. But she was upset. "I've never called you lien or anything out of name. So don't even try me on that." She rolled her eyes and looked at him, "I'm sure you do. A pretty girl with money and an attitude problem. No where near your type."

"That won't happen," he said acidly, getting annoyed.

"I know that you still had feelings for him after you broke up, or you wouldn't have been so adamant on making his life a complete misery," he snapped back, looking heated. He folded his arms across his chest. "Besides. That was nothing. Astrid and I don't get along at all, really. I don't like that she's somehow wormed her way into our circle."

These were just things he had to say, really.

"Yeah sure it won't." Alayna could be an ice queen of she wanted to. But she couldn't stop the laugh when he accused her of still having feelings for Chang, "Have you been doing some sort of drug? I'm with you. I love you, and only you. Can you say the same about me?" She bit the inside of her cheek and frowned a bit, "I don't like it either. But Rina likes her and I guess is sleeping with her brother." She looked up at him and suddenly felt tears in her eyes. Stupid pregnancy hormones.

Ptolemy touched her arm, and gave her the best reassuring smile he could muster.

"And I love you and only you as well, ardently. You're the only one for me, my precious."

He tried to embrace her, seeing that she was getting upset. Perhaps there would be more of these sorts of episodes to come, seeing as she was pregnant. He just had to walk eggshells around her for nine months...

"You need to let me take care of you, especially now. All this stress isn't good for you, or our child."

Alayna felt a bit better when he said she was the only one for him. Well duh, no one else would put up with his crap. And no one else would put up with hers. They were quite perfect for each other. When he hugged her, she hugged him back, almost afraid to let go, "I'm sorry I'm so fucking crazy." She sighed and rested her head against his chest, "I know. I know. Ill try."

"You're not crazy. You're just going through a lot right now."

He held her against him, kissing the top of her head.

"Just let me pamper and indulge you, my darling."

Alayna hugged him tighter and felt tears In her eyes, those stupid hormones were going to be the end of her, "I love you so much." When he said to let him pamper her, she sniffled and nodded, "Ok. But there is something I have to do first. II have to talk to atticus. If he hears this from someone else he's going to flip out."
