lunch date ((skylar))

Reed has to pinch himself a few times getting ready for the Hogsmeade weekend; he was actually going on a DATE. Who would've thought he'd had more luck as a professor than he did in his school years? To say he was eager would be an understatement. He dressed casually as there was no point in looking dance presentable at a PUB. Besides, he felt as if he looked best in a graphic tee and cargo shorts since he was able to just be himself.

He stood outside of the pub twiddling his thumbs anxious to see if Skylar was going to show up.

Skylar was a bit nervous for her first date with Reed. She hadn't been on a date in so long. The last one was when she was at the University studying for her healers degree. She put on a light shade of lipgloss and set the tube down, finally done getting ready. She had on a dark purple sweater and a pair of black leggings. They were very comfortable so she enjoyed them. She put a beanie on top of her head and made her way to the pub. She smiled when she saw Reed and walked up to him, "Hello Reed. Are you not cold?" Skylar got cold easily, so she didn't see how he was wearing shorts this time of year.

Reed smiled at Skylar wondering if he was dreaming; she could wear a potato sack and still look bloody amazing! Scratching the back of his neck, he laughed sheepishly and replied, "I get warm easily." There were a lot of guys out there who'd go outside in cooler temperatures wearing nothing but a tee, basketball shorts, and maybe a hoodie. It was adequate!

"Uh, how are you, dudette?" he asked as he opened up the door for her. "Ladies first!"

"I see. I am quite the opposite. I get chilly very easily." He looked very cute when he was nervous. She stepped inside when he held the door for her and smiled, "I am doing well. I heard from my brother back in Italy. Turns out his wife is pregnant and I'm going to be an aunt. So we are all very happy for them." She sat down at an empty booth and began looking over the menu, "Do you recommend anything specific?"

"I'll have to keep you warm then!"

That was how flirting worked, right? He needed a dummies guide to flirting that was pocket-sized. Reed smiled at the news. 'I think you're going to be an epic aunt, Skylar! I see how caring you are with those kids, you'll be great!"

Reed followed her to the booth and sat across from her. "You can't go wrong with butterbeer! Their fish and chips are awesome!"

Skylar looked at him and blushed, "I guess you will." She smiled a bit more when he complimented her on how she was the students, "Thank you. Penelope, Andrews wife, if very excited to have a doctor who specifically works with children in the family." She knew she would have to deal with Penny's frantic first time parent worries, but she didn't mind. "That actually sounds perfect. I think I'll try that." She then put the menu down, "So, any big plans for class coming up?"

Reed couldn't imagine having to do some of the work Skylar has done; healers and nurses and doctors and whatever were practically saints to him. At least he was able to see her away from that kind of environment for a bit; hopefully no student wasn't about to have some freak accident in the middle of Hogsmeade. That'd be a mood killer.

"Yeah!" he answered nodding. "I plan on doing a project for exams this term of having my students make a song of their own. It'll be epic! I didn't want to give them a test when they'll be doing lots of them! They need a break from memorization!"

Skylars eyes lit up as he spoke of his project idea. She clapped her hands together, smiling, "That is fantastico. Oh, the students would get to be creative and really dig into their feelings to write. Oh, that will be very good for some of them." She then had an idea of her own, "What if you had a music night? They could perform for the school. We could make it an event." She didn't notice that she had said we, until she had already said it.

"Yeah! I was thinking that the kids would want to do something creative to make exams less stressful. I know I would've liked that when I took music!" His eyes widened at the idea. "A music night?! That's brilliant! We'll have to see Camille about it!"

Skylar smiled as he got exited about the idea, "It will be a very fun night filled with music and wonderful talent. She was sure Camille would be on board with the idea, "I'm sure Camile will love the idea." When the waiter arrived she smiled at him, "Ill take a butter beer and a fish and chips please. Extra tartar sauce." She then handed him the menu and looked at Reed for him to order for himself.

Skylar was so cool, nice, and very beautiful! A part of him still couldn't believe that he got lucky enough to end up on a lunch date with her just months into his teaching job. He was going to have to figure out what his lucky charm was. "Yeah! Music brings people together!" His brain was already bursting with ideas, but he had to put them on the backburner until he could get the thoughts down on a scrap piece of paper.

When the menu was handed to him, he gave it a brief glance before telling the waiter, "I'll take a butterbeer and a meat pie. Thanks, dude!"

He turned back to Skylar and smiled at her.
