Chase was walking in from hanging out by the lake. It was a beautiful day out so she decided to enjoy it. As she walked in, she slammed right into someone who was walking out, "Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry." When she saw who it was she smiled, "Hey. You're Lien right?" She was about to ask if she was Alaynas boyfriend, but with all the drama lately she didn't want to mention it if they were no more, "Are you ok?"

Needing some more potions ingredients, but also trying to avoid the buzzing of voices surrounding wherever he went, Lien went to the grounds to pick some that grew around the edge of the forest. Hmm - hang on - a change of course. He should start at the greenhouses first.

The sudden decision to change direction was met by a clashing of paths, and he recovered from it by stepping back with a disoriented grumble. Then his eyes moved up. He was only half aware of the dream-like smile that grew cheek-to-cheek as he looked at the Veela girl.

"I can withstand more than that..."

All his worries seemed to just... melt away.

Chase giggled and smiled at him, "I'm sure you can." She brushed off her shirt and jeans and pushed her hair from her face, "Where are you off to in such a rush?" She felt bad for all the drama she had heard had been happening to him lately, "I'm sorry, by the way. About everything that's going on."

Her laughter sounded like a melodious breeze. He felt the hair on his arms stand on end. A nice, glowing feeling warmed his chest.

"Greenhouses," he said vaguely, "What's... going on? Oh, right. That. Yeah... erm?"

His head was screaming at him to impress her.

"I go deep into the forest to get rare ingredients. One time I'd fought off a werewolf.",

"Would you want to walk about it? I can join you to the greenhouses, if you'd like?" She offered her presence to keep him company. He seemed like he had alot going on. "A werewolf huh? Well, do you like wolves?" She asked, wondering if he'd ever found Lycan in the woods before. Her wolf sometimes liked to venture off on his own to explore or hunt.

"Uh - yeah - okay... sure..."

A heat radiated over his cheeks. Although a lot of him knew it was her special charm that was making him feel this way, he was happy, for the first time in a while, to be spending time with someone he didn't really know too well.

"I... neither like them or dislike them," he told her, as they reached the greenhouses. What was he doing in there again? Argh. It took a lot of will power to fight through the impulses to succumb to her. He'd closed his eyes briefly. That had helped. "Why are you bothering coming with me? What is this really about?"

His voice sounded grated, almost sad.

Chase walked along side him, "I have a wolf. I think you met him briefly. But if you ever see him in the woods, he won't hurt you. He just likes to hang out there sometimes." She said with a smile. She would have to go down to the forest later to retrieve Lycan. Or he would spend all his time down there. She was a bit surprised by his question, "Oh? I just.... I know you have alot going on. I thought talking through some of it might help you gain some more perspective."

"I don't want to talk about it."

Lien leaned back against one of the work benches, crossing his arms over his slender chest and making sure he didn't sustain eye contact with her. He was feeling woozy just from trying to fight it.

"There is no perspective to be gained. It is what it is."

Chase frowned a bit. There was always something new to discover about ones self, "Well I mean.... If you're sure." She noticed the lack of eye contact, "You know, you're the only person that really does that around me. I'm sorry, for the things I make you feel or say. I wish I knew how to turn it off." Chase didn't have many friends because of her veela charms. "I don't understand why everyone swarms Louis Weasley when he has the same thing as me. He's part veela too. Yet everyone loves him...." Maybe talking about her own problems would get him to open up on his.

Take away the Veela charm, and she was the type of girl he was attracted to anyway: dark hair, drop-dead stunning looks, slender but with shape. The super model type.

"Louis Weasley is an airheaded idiot. I can assure you not everyone loves him," Lien said bitterly. "Boys probably swarm around you anyway. I don't know why you've got much to complain about."

He still wasn't looking at her. It was just better to have a conversation this way.

Chase was confused on where the anger from Louis came from. But she was still new here. There must be some reason for it all that happened before she got here. She wrinkled her nose when he said she shouldn't be complaining, "It's not necessarily something I want happening, you know? Boys follow me everywhere. Yeah, my looks get me my modeling gigs and it makes some things easier. But I don't want all these boys filled with fake emotions for me."

"Lazar likes you," he told her, his tone a little more gentle than before. "He's my cousin's cousin. So I suppose we are family in a way," he explained, closing his arms over his chest more tightly. It was draughty in there. "I think it's more than just your looks for him."

"Lazar is a very sweet boy. But I think I like him more as a friend. We had alot of fun at the dance. But I just didn't feel any romantic feelings. You know, on my end?" She felt a bit bad. She didn't like having to tell boys it wasn't going to work out because they always seemed so devastated, "Why would it be anything more than my looks?" She asked, a slight frown on her face.

"Well then tell him that. It's better blowing him off now than stringing him along."

He moved off from the table and turned away from her, reminded of the things he could gather from the greenhouse. Taking a pair of pliers that had been left on the site, he went about snipping some leaves off a dittany plant. His long, thin fingers were gentle and well versed with the procedure of plant care.

"Because he's the type of person who can fall in love very easily. He's already attached to you. Although he's never dated a girl before, I believe he would be good to them. Too good to them..."

Chase looked down at her boots, "I don't wanna hurt his feelings. I take it he doesn't get the attention of alot of girls. I just want him to feel special. Because he is special." She followed him and watched as he snipped at the plants, "You're very gifted with that it appears. I kill most plants I touch." She thought about what he said. How could someone be too good for someone else? "I do want to remain friends with him. I know that much."

"Then the kindest thing to do is telling him just that - you want to be friends. Just friends."

He sighed.

"Just be very clear about it though."

It was actually quite nice to talk about something else other than the situation, even if it was about Lazar. He and Lien weren't exactly close, but Lien wasn't the type to have strong relationships with people. Even if they were family.

"If you need any ingredients yourself just let me know, I can always take a little more." A hufflepuff bad at herbology. That was sort of refreshing to hear.

Chase chewed on her bottom lip, "I know. You're right. I just don't wanna see his face all sad." It upset her at the thought of causing someone to be upset. When he offered her any ingredients she nodded, "alive actually been trying to grow some wolfsbane lately. But it always seems to die before I can truly harvest it."

"He'll get over it," he muttered, rolling his eyes.

He started work on a puffapod, being very slow and careful with it.

"You just have to grow wolfsbane in the right place," he said, "The only reason I'm decent at Herbology, or any subject, is due to hours of devoted study. If anyone put the same effort in they could get good at it."

Chase sighed, she knew lien was right. That didn't mean she had to like it. When he started giving her a mini herbology lesson she giggled. "You're very smart. Maybe you can help me out some time. I'm garbage at the subject currently. Maybe with your guidance I might be somewhat decent."

Lien felt himself blush. Hearing her little giggle stirred up the feeling inside of him again: the one of blissful serenity he could have by being close to her. It was the compliment as well, probably. He was looking at her.

"You are so fucking beautiful..." he uttered, feeling his body tingling all over.

Chase frowned a bit. She had been enjoying conversing with someone who wasn't only paying attention to how she looked. But that was over. She didn't mind the compliments. She was rather used to them. She smiled at him, "That's why they pay me the big bills to walk the runway." She said with a wink and a laugh, "You're not bad to look at either."

Lien put down the equipment, and stepped away from it without taking his eyes off her.

"So you like smart boys, do you? Then I'm definitely your man."

He was walking towards her with a vaguely, dazed look in his eye. 'Not being bad to look at' translated as being the best compliment he could ever receive. People were talking in the corridors about him: some of them thought he was gay himself. They thought he was weak, that he was in the same league as Lazar: pathetic and unable to keep a girlfriend.

He wanted to feel like a man again. He wanted to feel like he did when he'd had sex with Alayna.

Lien had picked up her hand, and was kissing her fingertips.

"Come on..." he said leeringly, "Let's just have some fun together..."

"I do. Intelligence is one of the sexiest things about a man. Sure, looks are great. But they fade" when he picked up her hand she raised an eyebrow, "What kind of fun?" She asked, unsure of what he meant exactly.

"I mean the sort of fun between a girl and a boy, of course."

Obviously.

He took her waist and tried to kiss her, forcibly throwing himself onto her.

Chase started to panic. She whimpered as he grabbed her and pressed her hands against his chest. But not on the way he wanted. She was pushing him off of her. Or at least trying to, "Woah woah woah. Hold on." She said leaning back, "You are just getting over a relationship. And I'm not anyone's rebound."
