First topic message reminder :

Indigo usually met Hyacinth in this cafe in Hogsmeade, but usually it was under the premise of finding out what he was up to. Now, it was a much more sombre affair.

Although the cafe was virtually empty, it still had Valentine's decorations lathered about the place. True, it wasn't as intense as Madam Puddifoot's - which was a student favourite for its couple-y atmosphere - but it still seemed a little unfitting given the situation.

Where was he? He hoped that he would come alone, although he supposed that he might want to bring Lakelyn for support. Indigo was gradually warming up to her. And, seeing as Hyacinth needed all the support he could get right now, he was glad she was there for him.

Blankly sipping his tea, he waited patiently. He hadn't complained to the waiter, even though the milk was full fat. He hadn't glowered snobbishly at anyone. He hadn't even bothered to shave earlier. He just wanted to see him.

"Oh, yes. They are quite big on arranged marriages, from what I understand."

He couldn't imagine living like that. Particularly if he had to marry a woman.

"He is quite handsome. Why would she be dissatisfied with him?"

"She just wants to get back at him because he kept flirting with other girls. I guess I look similar enough for her to want to bang me."

Macmillan shrugged it off. It was all fun to him.

He supposed that he could hardly say anything, given his situation with Harrison. What Indigo was doing was worse. This was a long-term relationship with children involved.

"I see."

He drank a bit more. It was starting to feel a little better with each mouthful now.

"Do you remember when we were younger, and I never gave back that teddy? What was his name? You used to be really attached to it, and I got... Jealous, I suppose, and said you had to share with me. Do you remember that?"

Macmillan pursed his lips as he listened to Indigo before nodding.

"Yeah. I named it Oahu or something because I saw it on a postcard. Why?"

@Indigo Macmillan

Indigo blushed in embarrassment.

"Well, I still - sort of - have it."

Why did he feel compelled to bring this up again?

"I mean. When I was a child I kept hold of it, but never had the courage to just... Give it back to you. Even though I tried to. I suppose I find it quite difficult to admit I'm wrong about something."

He laughed a bit. Maybe it was the drink getting to him.

"Want it back?" He asked, laughing properly now.

Macmillan laughed. For the past few years, he honestly just assumed it got thrown away or whatever. It actually felt rather touching to know that, even though Indigo stole it, he kept it all those years.

"We've had our disagreements. Maybe you really aren't that much of a twat."

Why else would Harrison want to be around him?

"You're not all that bad, either. You're very clever. I think, really, whatever you do, you will be clever enough to support yourself and a family, if you ever have one of your own."

Indigo had daydreams about playing house with Harrison, sometimes. But that was all it really was. He thought, sometimes, that he was falling in love with him or something.

"I think I'll end up getting hurt," He said out loud, sounding slightly tipsy already. It didn't take him much.

Macmillan smiled as he pulled his brother into a half-hug. This would be a very odd tender moment to witness if one was familiar with their constant arguments.

"Considering how often you're with Harrison, I thought your tolerance would've grown."

@Indigo Macmillan

"I don't usually have anything as strong as this..."

Those cocktails with their blasts of juice and watering down with ice and lemonade...

He appreciated the hug. "Do you remember when you fell over, and that girl hugged you? And I told you she was the one who did it?" He laughed, and hiccuped. Indigo was feeling quite nostalgic now that their relation to each other was being questioned.

"Don't those mixed drinks usually have more alcohol?"

Indigo didn't make much sense sometimes, but that was whatever. It was clear the two of them had their own quirks.

"I think so. Was this during a vacation?"

"More alcohol than pure whisky? What was he on about?

Indigo rubbed his eyes a little.

"I think we must have been. I didn't like that girl, though. She was always hanging around you and bossing you about. That was my job." He laughed. She wasn't really 'bossing' him about. She just took a liking to Hyacinth in particular. Girls always were like that with him, really.

"Don't they use a lot of different alcohols in mixed drinks?"

Macmillan placed a hand on Indigo's shoulder to try and help him stay steady. He chuckled at the story. "She had a major crush on me. I think she cried when I told her we had to return home."

"That wasn't the first time you broke a heart."

Girls probably didn't like Indigo because be wanted to be the one in charge. Little girls liked to boss about.

"I think I remember my first crush."

"Do you remember that neighbour we had over sometimes to de-gnome the garden, but he moved abroad? I remember just wanting to be near him all the time. He was about twelve, maybe. I was seven or eight I suppose."

He smiled. "He had this lovely smile. Never treated me any differently for being younger."

"I think I do. I found him nice looking too."

An actual bonding moment?

"He had this beautiful... dark curly hair."

Indigo smiled at him.

"I still can't imagine you being attracted to boys, but if you say so..." He finished off his drink.

"You heard me the one time during truth or dare."

Macmillan shrugged drinking some more of the firewhiskey. The burning was beginning to kick in.

"It isn't gay if you say no homo."

@Indigo Macmillan

Indigo laughed.

"It is completely gay!"

"Have you ever heard of the no homo code, bro?"

His ears were turning red from all the liquor.

"It isn't gay to swallow!"

@Indigo Macmillan

"No, but it sounds absolutely ridiculous. That is very gay. Everything about it is gay. Let me tell you something. I? I am... quite gay. Yes! Homosexual. There it is."

He had more to say after that outburst, apparently.

"But, you know, it's fine. It's okay to be gay! You can be gay. It's perfectly natural in a lot of... Circumstances. Someone told me that." He hiccuped again.

"Everyone knows you're gay," Macmillan responded absolutely cackling. "Even when you denied it, they could tell. They didn't even need a gaydar!"

"No, you're right. I really am... just the biggest poof."

He laughed. What time was it again? The middle of the afternoon?

"Hyacinth... Hyacinth what have you done? I am drunk in the middle of the afternoon. And... I haven't even shaved. I look so terrible right now. Atrocious." But the very idea of it seemed to be making him laugh nonetheless.

Macmillan fell off the chair in laughter. So much for trying to keep the other stabilized.

"I'm good!" He got back up his face red and strained from all the smiling.

"I only asked if you wanted some. The amount drank was all on you! Harrison might like your stubble."
