Every rose has its thorn (Dagger)

Carina was walking around Hogsmeade since she had nothing else to do that weekend. As she turned a corner, she bumped into someone. When she looked up she smiled when she saw who it was, "Dagger!" She was surprised to see him. She hadn't seen him in months.

Dagger had somehow found himself somewhere in Hogsmeade just roaming around, it was odd how life worked, he graduated Hogwarts and now he was trying to think of something good to do with his life. A job that paid him well. He ran into a familiar face and nodded. "Carina, didn't expect to see you here which was true.

"I bet you didnt." She said with a small laugh, "How have you been?" She knew him and alayna had broken up, and she had comforted her friend during the long distance. But she knew bringing up Alayna probably wasn't the best idea, no matter how much she wanted to.

Running into her was kind of shocking in a way only because of how close she was with Alayna, she had been someone that he believed he loved but not really, but he held nothing over her. "I am good, been busy with my job and personal life. You?" He could be polite when he wanted to be.

"I'm doing better. Had a bit of a rocky summer. But I'm doing good now." She smiled and rubbed the back of her neck nervously, "what are you doing now? Work wise I mean." She was curious what he decided to do after leaving Hogwarts

When she began to explain what she was up too, he had to stop himself from falling asleep. Then when she asked what he was doing for work, he simply shrugged a bit. "Been working with the ministry" was all he said.

Carina raised an eyebrow in shock when he said he was working with the ministry, "Really? Never saw you as the ministry type." She was genuinely surprised with the career path he had chose.

Dagger simply shrugged when it came to him being apart of the ministry and how no one seen it coming, it definitely made sense considering who he was. "Yeah no one did, but I am and I am satisfied there" Dagger replied.

Carina nodded and smiled softly, "That's good at least. You're happy there." She didnt really know what else to say. She only really knew Dagger through alayna and without her she had nothing to talk about.

Dagger nodded, this was awkward for him and it probably was for her as well, he would be shocked if it wasn't. "How is that guy of yours?" Dumb conversation but he was going to at least try and be polite.

"Louis. Hes doing good. I mean, were not together anymore. But it's good. Were friends." She shifted her weight from foot to foot and chewed on her bottom lip, "Well I better go. I gotta meet up with Alayna and... yeah..." she said her sentence trailing off at the end
