Peace and Quiet (Brandon)

Summer had always loved the outdoors, maybe it came from growing up on the little farm her parents owned. From the time she could walk, she was outside throwing feed out to the chickens, pulling weeds from the garden. It was always the outdoors where she found the most comfort. Even on a day like today where there was a chill in the air.

Classes were over for the evening so she was able to dress as she wished, which meant she could wear her jeans and a hooded sweatshirt. She was glad for this, the robes that they had to wear for classes weren’t her favorite thing. But she wore them, because it was the rules.

All of her homework for the night was already done so she made her way down the rolling grounds of the front courtyard to her favorite place to sit and read. Since she had started school here she had spent many evenings reading a book in the silence beside the black lake. There was a couple of trees on its shore and she had found that one made the perfect sitting spot. That was where she ended up as she sat down and opened the book she had brought with her.

Brandon had been outside for a couple hours exploring and bullying some kids, that he felt needed to be taught a lesson. His mentor had been off so Brandon was left to his own demeanor, and it annoyed him. He needed to have some fun and little first years were not cutting it. Maybe he should go and try to fuck around with the Slytherins. Show them all they were getting into and how shitty they were. So here he was scouting the grounds for some Slytherins.

Nothing came to view only student who he knew were not in the house. His arms crossed it was his high to bully Slytherins, because they deserved it after all they did to him. Just because he was a muggleborn did not mean he was not good enough. It was giving them a taste of their own twisted medicine.

Something distracted Brandon as he went down to the lake on his quest, and saw someone who was familiar. It was Summer Callahan, a quiet Ravenclaw. Perhaps picking on her could get him a rise. Strolling over to Summer he let out a smirk, “You know it’s dangerous for a eagle to be out here all alone.” he said in a dark tone. This was perfect for the Gryffindor, “Maybe the little eagle could use some company, what do you say?” she was the perfect victim.

Summer was enjoying the cool weather, being able to sit out by the lake bundled up in her hooded sweatshirt was the perfect way to spend the afternoon in her opinion. She wasn't really expecting for anyone to join her, though. Usually, when she came out here it was a place where she could be alone. Especially in the time between the end of classes and dinner when the other students all seemed busy with whatever they were doing.

She had managed to read a few pages before she heard the tell tale sound of footsteps and realized that they were only getting closer rather than moving away. It was then that she looked up and saw that indeed someone was approaching her. Though, she couldn't be sure why. The boy was older than her but probably not by much but there was something about the smirk that tugged at his lips that made her uncomfortable, that partnered with his dark tone when he spoke.

"Oh, you really don't have to stay. I mean, I won't tell you no if you want to but I come here all the time to read and I've never run into trouble yet." She said softly, she didn't want to read too much into the fact that he was standing over her in a kind of intimidating way... Maybe he wasn't meaning to. Though, she doubted it. She couldn't find it in herself to tell him to go away either. So, she was just stuck, trying to be polite but knowing it would probably come around to bite her.

Brandon loved when his victims gave him a fight, and he looked at the eagle. "Oh I have no intention of going anywhere, I planned on keeping you company." he said with a dark tone. Leaning against the tree, and he looked at her book, and he asked. "What boring stuff are you reading? I suppose I could give you so much more fun, or do you Ravenclaws not have any fun?" he asked looking at his hands.

This was going to be fun, and he knew that Leonides would be proud, well he wanted to believe that. He gave the girl a little smirk, "Now how can we teach the little Eagle some fun." he asked. Hoping for some harmless fun, and maybe ripe her book, and see how boring it was.

Summer smoothed her hand over the smooth page of the book in a bit of a nervous gesture when he said he planned on going nowhere. There was just something in his tone that told her he wasn’t wanting to keep her company to be friendly... or maybe she was overthinking again? She did tend to do that sometimes. ”We have fun... but it’s a book about the history of Halloween.” it was a muggle book, talking about how the holiday came to be. Things like that fascinated her.

He was talking about teaching her how to have fun and it brought a frown to her lips. ”I’m not sure what you mean?” she might be intelligent but she wasn’t all that good when it came to situations such as this.
