We Can Dance If You Want To (Mackenzie)

Albus did not really want to attend the ball, however his girlfriend wanted to go so he decided that he couldn't disappoint her. He walked in holding her hand and smiled, his red and black mask paired perfectly with his red and black tux, "My lady shall we get some refreshments and mingle for a little while before we dance?" He asked her softly and trying to seem like he wanted to be there.

Mackenzie was glad that Albus had decided to escort her to the ball. She knew he wasn't one for events. So the fact that he was there just for her made her happy. She had decided to match his red and black tux and mask by wearing red as well. She adjusted the mask sitting on her face as they arrived. She blushed when he called her his lady and nodded when he suggested drinks "that sounds great"

Albus led her to the drink table, and looked over it before noticing the juice dispenser and went over to it pouring 2 glasses, not realizing that it was mixed with alcohol. He had poured from the wrong one and just thought punch meant a mixed fruit drink, the label however had mentioned the alcohol part. "My lady," he said as he offered her the glass with a smile on his face.

There was just something about the atmosphere that made him feel more formal than usual, it was like he felt that when at the ball he could not be himself, it didn't help that he felt like the bow tie was chocking him.

Mackenzie took the glass from him and took a sip. It tasted odd but she liked it at the same time. She took a few more sips before licking her lips clean. Mackenzie felt slightly out of place. She was not one for balls and dressing up and stuff. That was more malias scene. Mackenzie didn't do social events. She took a deep breathe and took another page sip of the drink

Albus was extremely nervous, so nervous that he ended up downing the glass and got a refill. He was starting to feel a warm feeling rise up from his stomach, looking at Mackenzie he just knew there was something off, and he wasn't feeling what he had for her. He shook his head slightly trying to convince himself again that he did love her though he was just not feeling it, she embodied a lot of things that he just was not taking one more look before he headed for the door.

"Sorry, I just can't be here," he said as he walked past her. Al did jot even know why he had come in the first place.

Mackenzie was confused about what was going on with Albus. She wrinkled her nose a bit when he said he couldn't be there and just left. How could he just leave her like that? She thought about following him and asking him, but she knew that it wouldn't help.
