Narkissos was sitting in a train compartment going through all of his daily planners from this and the past few school years; he was trying to keep his itinerary as consistent as possible. "Ugh, another year of dealing with these imbeciles..."

"They say talking to yourself is the first sign of madness." Rafe stated as he came into the compartment and took a seat uninvited a smile of amusement upon his lips. Crossing his legs at his ankles as he relaxed back into the seat, he spread his arms across the top. "Or was it intelligence? I always seem to get those two mixed up."

"it was definitely madness. But we've always known narks was a little mad" Carina said as she entered the compartment and smiled at her house mates "hope you both had a good summer" she said sitting down with her kitten, Castiel, in her lap.

"Quite the king of comedy, aren't you, Krupnik?" Narkissos wasn't that amused in the slightest. In fact, he was hoping to start having a gossip session with Faye during this train ride. "Mad? I'm anything but. My summer's been average."

"They do say people who are mad have more fun. And I like to be amused, what can I say?" Rafe retorted still with a pleasant tone and expression. As for his summer it had been uneventful and rather disappointing. It seemed all the best fun to have was at Hogwarts with all those impressionable and highly influenced behaviors. He would have to see about different lodgings next next summer.

Turning his gaze to the girl, he smirked. "Let me guess, you want us to ask you about how your summer was, yes?"

"not necessarily. Just making conversation." Carina said stroking Cas' ear softly "you know. They're is quite a fine line between genius and insanity. Maybe narks here is straddling that line." She said looking over at Narks and smirking "while yes. Mad people do tend to have more fun. Stuff tends to blow up in their face more often than not."

Narkissos raised an eyebrow at Carina's comment. "I straddle the line between genius and insanity? What an interesting conundrum. You know, I've never thought of myself in that sense."

"I wouldn't quite say that," Rafe muttered about things blowing up more for those that are deemed insane. His eyes narrowed a bit at the girl but he sat back and decided to see how this played out. It was interesting regardless. His lip curled up as a gleam appeared in his eye.

"not entirely. Then again, what do I know?" She said with a shrug and leaned back more into her seat as an invitation to change the subject. She saw Raphael narrow his eyes at her and could feel the irritation coming off of him "careful there raph. You'll get anger lines if you keep it up. "

"So, how do you two think the other compartments are holding up?"

The candy lady strolled down the aisles with her cart until she reached a compartment full of Slytherins.

"Hello! What kind of candy would you three like to buy today?"

Carina's eyes lit up when the trolly lady arrived and she pulled a handful of galleons out of her pocket "I'll take 3 chocolate frogs, 2 things of fairy floss and a box of Bertie Botts please" she said handing her the coins and give her a smile

"You know what they say about assuming something, Malfoy." She didn't know him well enough or annoy him enough at the moment for him to be angry. It was amusing though that she thought that. While he took pride in his looks, wrinkles were something he didn't really worry about knowing they would come regardless when he became an adult.

Shrugging at Narkissos question he'd stated, "Could always go and find out. See what this year's batch of students are like." Actually, he thought he might do that regardless.

Blinking at the door when the candy lady came he slowly uncrossed his legs and stood up. Surprised at the amount the girl was buying, he didn't say what he really wanted to and just gave her a smirk as he nodded politely to the woman pushing the cart. Turning to his fellow Slytherins he gave a jaunty wave before disappearing up the aisle.

After seeing Carina buy a bunch of candy and Krupnik deciding to ditch them, Narkissos knew this was his cue to get out of the compartment and look for Faye.

"I'll see you at the feast if I'm lucky," he said to Carina before walking out. Lucky enough to not deal with her again for the duration of the train ride.
