Bet On It (Sierra)

Grayson was getting caught up on his Potions work for the year, and trying to get ahead. He loved Potions and had a pretty good grade in the class. He had loved Potions and History of Magic, they were his best subjects throughout his career. He had been sitting in the classroom taking some notes from his Advanced Potion Making book, and hoping no one could disturb him.

He needed to focus right now.

Sierra was not the best at potions. She was already beginning to fall a little behind in that class since she just couldn’t seem to grasp all the times and when to add what without getting confused. So, she decided to do the smart thing and ask their professor for a little extra help before she managed to really fall behind or worse managed to make something blow up in her face right in the middle of class. That would be so embarrassing. She peeked in through the cracked door of the potions room and saw someone there. It wasn’t their professor though. She sighed a bit as she spoke. ”Sorry to bother you but have you seen the professor?” she asked, hating to be a bother but not wanting to have to search the whole school if she didn’t have to.

Grayson liked coming in after hours to the Potions, and it let him get some things done in his own terms. He wanted to get ahead with his life right now Things that he wanted and not having a professor bearing down on him. He looked up when a student came in and he said. "Nope it's why I'm in here."

He didn't want have a professor breathing over him.

Sierra nodded when she heard that he hadn't seen the professor. She guessed it was probably a little silly to have expected him to just be waiting around his classroom after classes anyway. "Oh. I guess he wouldn't be just waiting here in his classroom for students who might need help." After all, the professors had lives outside of just teaching classes. "Sorry if I interrupted." She said with an apologetic smile.

Grayson didn’t mind being interrupted, but he also didn’t feel like the professor spent hours helping. He looked over at her and let out a bit of a sigh. “I mean he does, but most times he’s not here.” he commented. Grayson had began working on his putting the ingredients in his cauldron. “What do you need help with?”

It made sense. The professors had things to do other than just sitting in their rooms. She felt silly for not realizing it before she had come here. She nodded at his statement. "Makes sense." She said, though she wasn't expecting him to ask her what she needed help with. "It's super embarrassing but I'm just rubbish at potions. I don't want to fail or have my grades drop so that I can't be on the cheer team." She rambled a little bit because she hated admitting that she was so bad at potions. She was a Ravenclaw! This school stuff was all supposed to come easily to her, right? Wrong. Well, most subjects did come easily to her, just not potions.

Grayson hadn't been opposed to helping his fellow classmates, and this girl was a Ravenclaw. "I can help you, since we are both in the same house." he pointed out. He did mind it, but he couldn't bear the thought of a Ravenclaw not doing as well in class compared to the rest of them. They had an image to upkeep, plus she was cute. "How are you in Ravenclaw if you don't mind me asking, if you can't keep your grades up?"

Every Ravenclaw valued keeping their grades up.
