Change is Here [Open]

Amaryllis would be lying if she were to say that she wasn't nervous about the changes that had been made within the ministry, in the laws that had apparently been thrown right out the window. It was getting to be a dangerous world, and she worried for those closest to her. Poppy had already been through enough trauma but now that it was pretty much a free for all, she worried for her twin. She needed to just take a break and try to get her nerves under control. So, even though it was against her better judgment to go out with things the way they were, she did it anyway.

She walked into Euphoria. It wasn't quite as crowded as she had seen it before, probably because a lot of people were too scared to come out and just waiting for the number of violent crimes to skyrocket. Only the brave went out now. Or the desperate. She walked straight up to the bar and ordered a mixed drink, something pretty and fruity, taking a sip as if it might solve all of her problems for the moment.

Lochlan never went to clubs, because he was too old for them. But he was doing a lot of things that he wouldn't normally do. For example, the Leaky Cauldron actually did a pretty good breakfast; but they had recently hired a new cook and he'd tried changing it around too much. Lochlan didn't appreciate that. So, while the young man was on his lunch break, Lochlan ensured that he wouldn't be cooking anything ever again.

A hop, skip and jive later - he was here, feeling very refreshed. It was nice to know that his breakfast might be better from the Leaky Cauldron in the future.

He always knew that he didn't really have a moral compass; not the same as most others, anyway. It was nice to finally utilise it though, and he would be encouraging many others over the month to do the same.

Anyway: back to the club. There was a young woman at the bar with heat-styled hair and a lot of sex appeal, although he wasn't really interested in that. He knew her from the Ministry, and felt like giving her a nice surprise. "My favourite Unspeakable!" He declared, revelling her appearance with wide, open arms. "You must be very proud to be serving the Ministry at such a time. I hope you're all the more excited to go to work!"

All of a sudden, the booming voice reached her over the sound of the music playing. She nearly jumped out of her skin, not because she was intimidated by Lochlan, he had always been nice enough to her. Just because she was jumpy as it was. She knew that things were dangerous right now and she didn't want to end up on the receiving end of something unbecoming. Though, by the time she turned her head to face him, the shock had worn off and she faced him with a professional smile, the same one she had always used at the office when he was her boss.

Mr. Riddle, how good to see you again." She said politely. Taking a sip from her drink, she nodded at his statement. He obviously enjoyed the way things were if the way he spoke was any indication. And she knew that she was stuck in a lion's den at work. She didn't want a target on her back as well. "Oh, I am very proud, sir." She said without giving much indication as to what she was proud of... After all, she was still proud of where her hard work had gotten her, even if those around her had turned questionable at best.
