This wasn't the plan (Atticus)

Alayna had been looking for her brother for over an hour before she decided to check the kitchens. When she walked in, she could smell her brothers famous chicken cacciatore and apple pie. A weird combination, but one of her favorites. She stepped inside and smiled taking a seat, "It's almost as if you knew me and my stomach were coming." She was practically salivating at the smell of the pie, "Can we talk Atti?"

As word had spread fast, Atticus was shocked to find out about Alayna's pregnancy. Judging by the way she was suddenly dipping and diving about the castle trying not to be seen, he could only assume it was true and not just a fabrication. He'd spoken to Carina about it, and she already knew.

Feeling tense and like he needed to occupy his mind with something, of course he came to the kitchens and started cooking whatever sprung to mind.

He was just plating up when Alayna came in. He'd turned to look at her, but turned back again.

"I forgot this was your favourite," he muttered, sounding sour. He didn't respond to her wanting to talk though, he just kept his back to her stubbornly.

Alayna was a bit shocked by his negative energy towards her. That told her everything she needed to know. And that was that he already knew, "Based on that oh so warm greeting, I take it you've heard... I was going to tell you. That's literally why I'm here Atticus." She tugged on the sleeve of her oversized sweater and walked over to him, "Can you please just stop the cold shoulder shit and be my big brother? I'm fucking scared atticus."

"Only because that message got sent to everyone in the entire school," he said tartly. "When was I going to find out if that hadn't happened? When you were being carted off to St Mungo's several months down the line?"

He sighed. Although he was angry about not being told about it, he was mostly worried for her. When she said she was scared, he turned around and hugged her tightly. Where his sister was concerned, he couldn't keep up the anger for very long.

"Alayna..."

He was squeezing her so tightly that he lifted her slightly off the ground.

"It's okay. I'm here for you. I just wish that I was the first person you told..."

"When I find out who sent that they're dead. They're beyond dead. They will wish for the sweet release of death." She sighed and looked at him, "Again, that's why I'm here Atticus. My plan was to tell you right now." When he hugged her, she hugged him back tightly, almost afraid to let go. She chuckled a bit, "Too tight Atti. Cant breathe." She pulled back and cupped his cheek with a smile, "I know you are. And I'm sorry. The only reason Rina knew before you did is because she demanded to go to the Healers appointment with me. You know how demanding she can be."

He let her go, slowly, placing her down onto the floor again.

"Sorry..."

He squeezed her hand instead.

"Ah, okay," he said dully, "And Rowle, I'm supposing he knew?"

There was a pause, before he said: "I already know you're going to keep it. But try and reconsider."

When he placed her down she smoothed out her top and took a seat, "Yes he knows. I told him over the break." She picked up a cup of tea that was on the table, assuming it was his and took a sip. When he asked her to reconsider keeping the baby, she set the cup down firmly and looked at him, "I'm only going to say this once. Im keeping my baby. End of discussion."
