Hungry like the wolf (Atticus)

Maverick had found the new British girl and asked if she knew where to find her brother. After looking for a while, he slid into the food hall and saw him there. He smiled a bit and walked over and took the seat beside him, "Hey Atticus. Mind if I join you?" He asked, looking over at the curly haired boy. He was really cute. He didn't know how to feel about that. He had never thought of a guy as cute before. He smiled and picked a grape up off his plate and popped it into his mouth, "How was your first night here? Did you sleep well?"

It was evening time and Atticus and Alayna had just been sorted into their houses. Atticus was surprised to be sorted to Pukwudgie, believing that he would go to Horned Serpent after hearing it 'favoured scholars', which sounded a little bit like Ravenclaw. Apparently the house sorting didn't matter as much at Ilvermorny anyway, as he was in the same dormitory as Ruggiero Fedele, who was in Wampus house.

This strange place... and its large, crowded halls. At least the food wasn't too strange, he thought, working his way through his meal alone. Alayna said she wanted to go somewhere with Mackenzie.

Then, as he ate his chicken, he looked up to a voice above him. He almost dribbled out his mouthful again, and felt his face turn scarlet. The Adonis sat down with him, as though it was the most normal thing in the world. "Um," he said quietly, after managing to swallow his mouthful. "It was fine, thank you, I slept really well, thank you." That was enough of saying 'thank you'. "Shall I get you anything? I can get it for you. What do you like to eat?" he asked abruptly, having an overwhelming desire to bend over backwards to serve him.

Maverick watched as he got all flustered, it was kind of adorable. He chuckled and placed a hand on his arm, "You're good. I'm fine. I didn't come here to eat. I actually came here looking for you. You're sister said I might find you here." He locked eyes with him as he picked another grape of his plate and popped it into his mouth, "I thought since we don't have much of a welcome committee for you guys, I'd take on the job. Answer any questions you might have. Show you the best places to skip class for random make out sessions. That sort of thing."

When he touched him he thought that he might sink off the face of the earth. He was staring at him drowsily, listening to him talk but not really paying attention to the meaning of the words. It all seemed so frivolous... conversation. All he needed to do was keep looking at him, and he could be fulfilled for the rest of his life. He watched his mouth as it opened, and he put the fruit on his tongue.

Now he just felt very warm, and very at ease.

There was a flicker across his expression, but not much else. He was entirely captivated by him.

Maverick looked at Atticus and raised an eyebrow. He didn't normally have this affect in guys, other than Tovren, but he was- oh. That made more sense. He chuckled and leaned back against the table, "Maybe avoid direct eye contact. I won't be offended, I promise. It just might help you be able to actually form words." He said with a light laugh

He continued to stare at him, without moving very much. It was nice just to have a clear mind: a blissful serenity that was only filled by the image of him. If he did look away, or blink, horrible - terrible things might happen.

Maverick frowned a bit and reached out to turn Atticus head a bit so he wasnt staring directly at him. He didn't like when people got stupid around him. He wanted them to be able to speak and such, "Is that any better?"

When he found himself looking at unfamiliar surroundings, he was frightened for a moment. What had just happened? There was a chunk of time that had completely washed out from his memory. Desperately he tried to ground himself, reminding himself that this was Ilvermorny, he was here with Alayna, he was having food in their hall, and then somebody had arrived? That was it. He felt their presence but didn't turn his head. Something told him not to. Or his memory would blank again.

"That was frightening," he breathed, looking down at his food. Suddenly he didn't feel as hungry.

Maverick frowned a bit and nodded, "I'm sorry. I didn't think I'd have that sort of affect on you. It usually only happens to girls. But I've never seen to that extent." He was glad he was able to at least speak to him now, "Give it a bit. It'll get to feel normal. Unless you'd like me to leave now?"

"Well you've probably realised by now that I'm attracted to men and not women."

He still was battling with an urge to look back at him, and keep staring. Although it was frightening to feel that possessed by someone, it was also addictive. It was the best and the worst feeling in the world.

"I would never ask you to leave," he said, before he realised he'd said it. "I might be more vulnerable to your powers because my head was messed with quite badly recently."

"I have realized. And if we're being honest, I've never been attracted to a male before. Well, before I saw you that is." Maverick was actually blushing, which was rare, he never got flustered or embarrassed. He chuckled a bit before frowning at his words, "Messed with how?" He was curious as to what had happened, "I heard your sister might be going back home. That was rather quick. Are you going to be going back with her?"

Before he saw him? Was that just some sort of veela charm confession, because he was beginning to feel light-headed again...

"I was hit by a bad curse," he explained, leaving it at that. Although he had succumbed to his powers, he didn't know him - or anyone at this school. While everyone back home knew of Theodore Nott going to Azkaban because of cursing his own son, the people here probably had no idea. Why would it be in their newspapers? So he wasn't going to tell him exactly what happened.

"Yeah... I know," he said gloomily, "I have to go back with her. I don't like the idea of her travelling by herself when she's pregnant. I know it's only a Portkey, but there has to be someone there just in case she takes a fall or something." He worried a little bit too much sometimes.

Maverick frowned a bit when he said he was hit by a curse, "I hope whatever bastard hit you with it got what he deserves." He didn't know the curly hair boy that well. But he did want to maybe change that. "You don't necessarily have to go back. Alayna seems like a very capable woman. Plus, I wouldn't mind seeing your face around here a bit longer." He said with a charming smile, even though he knew Atticus wouldn't see it
