The Match

((OOC: As this is just a friendly match, all characters/RPers can do what they like without having to do a dice roll on whether their actions go through or not. For example, if character A passes the quaffle to character B, character B can decide whether he/she catches it or not. Just try to mix it up and make it interesting. Don't always be successful with passes/scoring/bludgers/dodging bludgers, etc. For the seekers they can just chill out for a bit, because we want some action going on with the other team members before that. We will tell you when snitch catching attempts can be done. You can also RP audience reactions to things as we go, so its not only the players involved. We've never done this at RUTH so we're just really excited to try it out haha.))


At the beginning of the match, both teams filed onto the pitch. The stands were full with the staff and students, the conditions were fine and everyone was raring to get going. Once they were in their starting positions in the air, Leonides released the golden snitch that went darting off somewhere around the pitch. The bludgers were released, the quaffle was launched into the air and the whistle blew, indicating that the team chasers could now attempt a grab for it and all the other players could start moving.

Although Wade was a beater, he managed to catch the quaffle. He passed it to one of the Gryffindor chasers and sped off to track them.

As cheerleading was a new addition to the matches, the staff hadn't exactly figured out where on the pitch they'd be located. So, Marilyn and her squad ended up near what was typically the Gryffindor stand while the Hufflepuff squad was placed on the opposite side of them. She shook her pom poms wondering when it'd be a good time to start cheering.

The gryffindor chaser caught the quaffle and swerved downwards, skirting the bottom of the pitch. They were keeping an eye out for @Emerald Cartwright so they could pass it to her.

James was in the sky making sure to fly away from any potential dangers until it was time to get the snitch for the team. It felt odd to be playing a match again after years of no quidditch.

Camille sat in the stands cheering on all of the teams as they got on the field. What a great way to spend the day!

"Go Gryffindor! Go Hufflepuff!"

She enthusiastically waved flags of both houses.

Amara stood with her fellow Gryffindor cheerleaders, waiting for their captain to give the cue for them to start. Why had she signed up for this again? Oh, because she looked killer in this little skirt!

Maverick saw the bludger coming for one of their chasers and intercepted it, hitting it hard with his bat so that it instead flew toward one of the Hufflepuff players at a high speed.

Emery dove in and caught the quaffle her chaser was passing, and headed straight towards the goalpost, and scored a goal. She gave out a little bit of a smirk,

Let’s hope she could keep this luck up.

Lakelyn had been a nervous wreck for the first match of the year but she had felt all of that nervousness melt away into excitement as she took to the pitch. She kept her eye out for the little shimmer that would alert them to the snitch being nearby, scanning the entirety of the pitch for it while avoiding any bludgers that might come her way.

Gemma cheered when Emery scored the goal, and shouted. “That’s my best friend.” she said clapping, “I love that bitch!” she said as she hooted and hollered in the stand.

Hermione cheered and whistled as Gryffindor scored the first goal of the match. She was so happy to see her nephew back on the pitch again.
