I thought we were friends (Louis)

Carina walked down the halls towards the head boys room. She was getting frustrated with her potions assignments and she could find Ashton or Serena. So she decided to ask Louis for his help. Last time he helped her, she had actually done pretty well. She reached the door she needed and knocked on it, hoping he was home. Hoping he was alone. She didn't want to deal with Cartwright.

Louis had been back to the Head Boy dormitory to collect some more clothes, as currently it was James who was occupying it. He believed James was spending some time with Fred and Louis didn't want to get in his way, so he'd chosen this time to come. James wasn't exactly seeing eye-to-eye with him right now anyway, following their discussion about his drug dependancy.

When there was a knock at the door, Louis looked up from the wardrobe. He moved towards the door curiously, and opened it.

"Oh, Carina. Hello..." he said, then suddenly his eyes turned away from her. He remembered what Hazel had said. "Um. I'm a little busy at the moment Carina. What did you need?"

Carina smiled at first when he opened the door but that smile soon disappeared. She didn't know what that emotion was she was picking up on, but she had never felt it off Louis before. That was the first red flag. "I came to ask if you could maybe help me out with something. But if you're busy I guess I could figure it out myself. I kind of needed someone to talk to about some stuff, as well. But its ok. Really." She said giving him a wide fake smile.

He couldn't stand seeing anyone looking like that, particularly not at his own expense. Louis looked as though he was fighting some internal battle, and smiled weakly at her.

"I'm sorry, Carina. I just need to say this," he said sadly, "Before you say anything else, I need you to know how I feel. I can help you out and give you some pointers, but I can't be there to brew potions with you anymore. Hazel is unsettled by us spending time together, so we need to show to her that we really are just friends."

He half-hid his face behind the door, looking down.

"I like being your friend, Carina. But we need to be mindful of Hazel's feelings as well."

Carinas face got lower and lower with each word he spoke. That damn fucking Yankee bitch. She bit at the inside of her cheek as she looked at Louis, "Look, Lou. I don't care about her. I really don't. You're my friend, so I play nicely. I don't care what unsettles her. That sounds like a her problem and her not being able to control her own insecurities. I needed someone to talk to because I'm confused about alot of stuff going on since the dance." Perdita. "And you've always been someone I could talk to. Because we were friends. And also, my potions grade shouldn't have to suffer because you're little girlfriend has issues." Carina was angry.

Louis listened to her frustration, and was able to maintain eye contact with her as she did. He knew that she was entitled to her feelings, so he nodded sympathetically, and allowed her time to settle down again.

"What are you confused about?" he asked, concerned.

Carina wasn't sure if she should actually tell him or not. She didn't want the skank to use anything she told him against her. But she also trusted Louis, "The girl I was with at the dance. I feel like I'm going mad. I haven't seen her since the dance and I just can't get her off my mind."
