"Don't you want to be with your other friends, though? Like Narkissos?"

Louis entered a compartment with his good friend Faye in tow. They had met on the platform and Faye said they should find a compartment together for the journey. He had only been in his second year when he met Faye, a first year, who was lost in the dungeons somewhere on her second day and getting picked on a little by older students.

They had stayed friends since then. "What about the girls you share a dormitory with? Kenzie, Jenna and Discordia?" He remembered people's name quite easily, despite the fact that he'd hardly spoken to them. Or sometimes, never at all.

"I'm sure he can survive without me for two minutes," Faye responded exasperatedly, but knew really that she couldn't survive without him. Not the other way around.

She took next to Louis and watched him scrupulously. He had a kind, gentle face and encouraging eyes. She never really thought of him as a boy before, just as an old friend. Okay - so he was good-looking. But there was a lot more to him than just looks, despite what a lot of people seemed to think.

"You've got to be kidding me." She snorted. Poor, innocent Louis. He had no idea. "One of them is actually crazy, and the other two... well. They're all right." She said, begrudgingly.

Mackenzie was walking past a compartment when she heard a familiar voice. She poked her head inside and smiled softly when she saw Louis. He had always been really nice to her "hello Louis. Hello louis' friend. Mind if I sit?" She asked a small blush spreading across her face

The compartment door slid open, and Mackenzie stood in the door way. Louis beamed at her. He had helped her a few times with her homework in the common room, and one time had given her his hot water bottle when she felt cold. There was nothing worse than feeling cold to Louis, and he heard that females feel it more.

"Hello Mackenzie, of course come in," He said warmly.

Faye looked over this girl. She was incredibly pretty, and that annoyed her. Her familiarity with Louis annoyed her as well, but she managed to swallow that down a bit. Also, wasn't she a...

"Aren't you a Riddle?" She asked, frankly, blinking at her without smiling.

Mackenzie stepped inside but froze when the girl mentioned her last name. That was an extremely touchy subject for her. "um... I mean... Yeah. My name is Mackenzie Riddle. But I'm not like my family. I swear. " She said. She was getting really tired of having to explain that to people lately

Louis smiled. It was in a way that was very firm, and final. There wasn't much point in discussing the topic at all in his opinion, Mackenzie clearly wasn't a Riddle by nature. He felt sympathetic towards her, in a way that she was constantly judged for it.

"Sit here with us," He encouraged, tapping the seat next to him. "Do you know what subjects you are going to choose for NEWT level yet, Mackenzie? I know you still have your OWLs to get through yet, but I like trying to guess what people want to do after Hogwarts based on their choices." He beamed.

"Faye I think you're wanting to go into the Ministry, aren't you?" Let's settle the atmosphere a bit here.

"Yes and you already know that," She reminded him, a little impatiently. Louis wouldn't pick up on something like that though. Faye smiled bittersweetly at Mackenzie. Okay, so maybe she said she wasn't, but wasn't You-Know-Who charismatic and likeable at Hogwarts?

Narkissos, having gotten bored of the Slytherins he was stuck around, decided to look for Faye. After going through multiple compartments including but not limited to Rosemary and her "protest", a whole gang of girls, a couple first years, etc, he found her sitting with Louis and Mackenzie.

"This is better than where I was..."

Mackenzie looked at Louis and gave him a grateful smile for the change of subject "I know I have to take alot of potions courses for my field of study. I want to go into the medical field. I wanna be an healer. Me and my best friend are both going to apply for internships after our seventh year. Carina has a gift at telling how people are feeling " she said smiling at the fact that she knew Carina's secret power of being an empath. "My family has caused so much pain in the past. I want to help ease people's pain" she said pushing her hair back. When someone new came in she quickly looked down at her lap her hair falling back in her face again

He supposed that by 'Carina' she was talking about Carina Malfoy. He didn't know much about her, other than he saw her leading around a group of other girls.

"You shouldn't feel as if you need to rectify their wrongdoings," Reasoned Louis sympathetically, talking about the 'pain in the past' caused by certain members of her family. "But it's a credible pursuit none the less. I could see you doing that, definitely."

Louis looked up at Narkissos entering the compartment, and smiled kindly at him. "Faye was worried about you, Narkissos." He said, with an innocent sort of look that got him the elbow from Faye.

"Who's worried?" She said dismissively, giving Narks the look over. "You look like you've been forced to watch paint dry. Where were you before?" She asked, her interest piqued.

"Carina. That's twice I've heard her name now."

Faye rolled her eyes derisively.

"I would've thought Krupnik was your type, Narks." She jested, playfully nudging him.

Mackenzie smiled at Louis and turned to the new person when he mentioned Carina "you were with Tina? I need to talk to her later. Found out some interesting stuff about a friend of ours" she said brushing the potential gossip off and then turned to Louis " so what do you want to do after school?" She asked wondering what his field of interest was

Narkissos raised an eyebrow at Faye's comment about Krupnik. "Hardly."

"So, I heard you got the healing apprenticeship. You know, Cherry did too."

He wasn't going to elaborate on how he found that out.
