As the match got closer and closer, James was attempting a routine within his last few days of hiding from the entire school. He had to figure out some sort of system so he could get his missing assignments done, have his needs be met, and to ensure that he would be able to handle a normalish schedule once he was reintegrated with the rest of Hogwarts. It wasn't that long ago that James had gotten out of a private location near the kitchens; it was a nice way to get some energy out of his system without heading to the gym.

He had yet to put his invisibility cloak back on, but he figured it might've been late enough that, for the most part, he could get away with not wearing one. It felt nice to have some sort of actual purpose for once in his life from becoming a father to being given the chance to learn magic not covered by the Hogwarts curriculum. James longed to talk to Lien sometime soon, and he supposed one of his motivations for not wearing the cloak was to be caught by him while on patrol.

He wouldn't be that lucky.

This was the last person he wanted to deal with.

It was a good thing that all of the anger was out of his system or it wouldn't be a nice time.

Alayna was on patrol for the night and was walking around the ground floor. She would much rather be spending time with Ptolemy. She turned a corner and saw James Potter. She narrowed her eyes and walked over to him, "You shouldn't be out around the halls at this hour. It's after curfew." She crossed her arms over her chest and looked him over. He looked like crap. That made her happy, "Sneaking out to go hook up with Chang?"

"Yet I've been doin' 'at since the dance," James replied shrugging, "Without anyone detectin' me."

He loved to piss off authority figures if he didn't like them enough, and Alayna quickly rose to number one of his list of disliked prefects.

James shook his head; he had just hooked up with somebody else, but he was going to keep that to himself. "Nah, 'aven't seen him at all. Congrats to him on dumpin' ye."

"Well, now you've been detected." She said with an eye roll. She smiled a sarcastic grin, "Congrats to me. He was just.. all wrong. So I guess I owe you for getting me out of that. Besides, he's crazy. He attacked poor Lilith." She didn't care about the fact that he had dumped her. A few people were on her side now that Lien was going downhill. And she was rising up beside Ptolemy.

For some reason, he felt a small tingling upon learning one of Lien's latest moves. He licked his lips and covered his mouth as he thought about it. Hm, he didn't realize he that sort of side to him... That explained the Slytherin consideration from the hat even more. It was sexy?

"Ye prolly stressed 'im out. He likes his routine, y'know? I dunno how much longer he coulda put up wit it..."

He wasn't bothered by Lien being an aggressor in the slightest bit; he figured he had his reasons.

Alayna watched him lick his lip and scoffed, "Oh my god. Does that turn you on or some shit?" He was just as fucked in the head as she had thought. "I doubt that's the case. If anything, I was a stress release for him." She said, referring to their extra curricular activities in the bed room. "But either way, you're not supposed to be in the hall. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to give you a detention."

"My lips 'ere dry, pervert."

That would likely land him a further infraction, but he's made it his goal to piss off Alayna as much as possible, and he would have to save the better parts of his arsenal for later. That would be his revenge instead of whatever his siblings had done. Petty and inconveniencing. Just how he liked it.

James shook his head. "If ye were 'at good, he prolly wouldn't've dumped ye in the first place." He still wasn't aware of how much Lien sided with him.

Detention, schmetention.

"Mhmm. Sure they are, Potter." She didn't like him. At all. She honestly wish he'd just disappear and never return. Well, with being a soon to be baby daddy she might get her wish. "He wasn't that good either. I can at least wait to orgasm. I don't cream on veelas in my pants." She still found it hilarious that that had happened.

James rolled his eyes at the last comment. Something embarrassing happened to Lien, something not unusual for a lot of blokes, and it was being used against him? He hated the entire school sometimes.

"And ye wonder why yer a fuckin' bitch..."

Everyone started somewhere, and it was bad enough that Lien didn't believe in himself most of the time.

Alayna smirked and shrugged, "Oh gee willikers. James Potter thinks imma bitch. What ever shall I do?" She faked shock and out a hand to her mouth before laughing, "I don't give a fuck about what you think of me. You're irrelevant to me. As is he." She no longer cared about Lien either. Ptolemy was to thank for that.

"Yet ye gave 'nough of a shit to make fun of his inexperience. Ye never deserved Lien in the first place. Did ye know I never badmouthed ye when he and I talked 'cause I wanted him to be happy?"

Taking the moral high ground.

James rubbed his eyes and sighed.

He should've worn that damn invisibility cloak.

"To make fun of him? Sure. It's a good way to pass time." She said, looking at him. When was the last time he got a good night's sleep? Her guess was a while. Wait a minute, he never talked shit about her? Why didn't she believe that! She shook her head and muttered, "Yeah right." She then cleared her throat, "Well you can have him now. If he even wants you. He might not. You brought him into all this drama. And we saw what he does to people who cause him drama." She wanted to fuck with his head.

Crossing his arms, he rolled his eyes. James had his reasons to not automatically believe what came out of Alayna's mouth. Maybe it was a good thing that Lily brutalized her face after all...

"Yet he left ye instead of stayin' with ye... Yer the one who outed me."

"Because you threatened me. Because I was talking about Lien. And blah blah blah. We've been through this before. It's old news, sweetheart." She was growing bored of this. She just wanted to get patrols done with so she could go the the Slytherin dorms and see Ptolemy.

"Yer the one that brought Lien up first this whole conversation."

Despite the state of his memory much of the time, his own relatives were trying to dispute his sobriety or whatever it was. His brain wasn't complete mush!

"And I'm the one ending the conversation." Alayna said in a snappy tone. She had a migraine now. Maybe Ptolemy would have something to help her with that. She looked at him, "You need to go back to your dorm. Or whoever it is you've been hiding out. I won't force you back to Gryffindor, but you do have detention Friday evening with Maddox."

James shrugged finding himself unable to give much power to Alayna's authority. She probably only got the position due to her father...

"I was headin' 'ere in the first place..."

Merlin, he missed Lien a lot.

Alayna nodded and waited for him to start walking off, "Go on then." She wasn't stupid. God, she just wanted this night to be over. She'd have to tell Ptolemy about the whole thing.
