After lessons were over for the day, Lien remained behind in the classroom. Professor Riddle had left, the other students had left, and he was left alone to brood. He put his elbows on the desk and his fingers through his hair, then removed his glasses to massage his eyes irritably.

What had happened in the greenhouse with the Veela girl was still very fresh in his mind. What was intended to be a confirmation of manhood had the exact opposite effect, and if anyone found out about it, the jeers of his classmates would only grow louder. He felt sick, desperate, wanting to prove to himself and others that he wasn't pathetic, that he didn't like men and he was at least half decent in bed.

These were exactly the sorts of things he should never have got caught up in. He should have kept his head down, kept to his studies and not involve himself with others...

It was all rather sudden. Lien Chang had found him exiting the Head Boy's dormitory after checking on James, and had told him to go to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom on the third floor as someone was hurt. He had tried to ask Lien for more information, but the boy appeared to have fled somewhere.

By the time he had made it to the classroom, he peeked in and saw what had happened.

"Lilith. It's okay," he soothed, going to her side. "I'll get you to the hospital wing. Take hold of my neck. Can you do that?"

Lilith was starting to feel dizzy. The pain in her leg was getting more intense. He told her not move. She felt like she couldn't even if she wanted to. She felt to dizzy to even crawl for help. When she felt like she was going to pass out from the pain, she heard a voice. It wasn't Liens voice. She looked up and saw Louis! When he told her to hold onto him, she nodded and wrapped her arms around his neck, "I-it was Chang, Louis." She knew she was safe, and her body could relax. She let the darkness take over as the pain overwhelmed her senses and passed out as Louis carried her.
