Maverick always found that when he needed to clear his head that the best way to do it was flying high above the quidditch pitch on his broom. And he was definitely needing to clear his head. They had all just returned back from school and he couldn't be happier to be back. He would have never thought that he could be so happy to be in school but if it got him away from his parents, he was all for it. He looked down at the ground so far below him, knowing that one wrong move could send him hurtling towards it but confident enough in his skills to not be worried about it. He took another lap around the pitch before turning his broom into a dive towards the ground that he pulled out of right before colliding and instead landed on his feet.

Abeline was wandering around the grounds of Hogwarts, lost in a daze. She had alot on her mind but nothing of any seriousness. She ended up at the quidditch field and noticed someone up in the air. She stopped before deciding to climb up to the stands and watch. She had nothing better to do so she figured, why not? Whoever the boy on the broom was, he seemed to know what he was doing.

Maverick had probably spent the better part of the last hour or so flying around the quidditch pitch, dodging bludgers and sending them flying like he would if he were in a game. It was good practice and kept him at the top of his game, even if he was only practicing by himself. That gave him the option to push himself further than he usually would. He didn't notice the girl sitting on the stands until he hit the bludger with his bat and it went flying towards her. Luckily, it didn't hit her but he figured he might as well apologize. So, he landed his broom and went to gather up the bludger and put it in its case. "Sorry about that. I didn't know anyone else was out here." He said.

Abeline was watching with such intensity that she almost didn't see the bludger coming right at her. She sighed out of the way and shot back up, moving her hair from her face. But she wasn't angry. In fact, she was laughing, "It's ok. All part of the game. You have some impressive moves. Are you on your houses team?" She was a chaser for the Hufflepuff team herself.

Maverick hadn't expected the girl he had nearly just hit with a bludger to be laughing when he finally got the thing back under control and shoved it back into the box he had gotten it from. He sat the box aside to put away later as he turned his attention back to the girl. "Yeah, I'm one of the beaters for Gryffindor. You play on the Hufflepuff team, right?" He was pretty sure that he was right but he could always be wrong.

Abeline nodded when he asked if she was on the Hufflepuff team, "Yes I am. I'm a chaser. Are you practicing for the scrimmage match?" She asked, wondering why he was out there by himself. She normally practiced with her team. It helped her somehow, being around other people during practice. It made it to where she was used to distractions because she never practiced alone.
