study session ((open))

Ellie was having one of her first study sessions in the library today, and she felt like it be a good opportunity for her to get ahead for the term. She liked to have really good grades to say the least, and it meant she’d get into a good school. The Hufflepuff wanted to go to a good university, but she also knew social media had a lot of expectations for her. During the summer she had brand deals to start up, and had to keep herself on track.

She felt like Hogwarts was the only place that let her be a kid. One of those letting her having a study session, and hopefully someone would come and join her. She got out her Astronomy book, and began to start reading the book and take notes.

The library was fairly busy considering how early on in the term it was. Lien had seen a Hufflepuff girl sat alone on one of the tables, and thought that might be the best place for him to join: his other options were pretty dire, full of loud-mouths and those who he’d get lumped with when it came to kicking out. There was Jovian Medina, but he stared too much. It was going to have to be this girl...

He sat down quietly, giving her a weak, nervous sort of smile. “Do you mind me sitting here?” he asked her wearily, wondering whether she was waiting a crowd of friends or something. He hoped not.

Ellie looked up and let out a huge smile on her face when saw an older prefect coming to sit with her. She loved being in the present of company, “Of course.” she said with a huge smile on her face. She thought it could be good to get to know other prefects and she asked.

“What’s your name?” she said since she didn’t really know his name. “I know we both are prefects.” she pointed out.

Lien looked at her big, smiling face. It was a lot nicer seeing it on a girl than on a boy, like Louis Weasley. Still, he was a little wary of her. People who came across as very friendly did that to him.

"Lien Chang," he said, smiling very slightly. "And you're um...?"

It was funny. Now that he was looking at her, he felt like he knew her from somewhere. Was it only from being prefects?

Ellie’s face turned bright red when Lien had spoke to her since it such an honor for an older prefect to speak to her. “I’ve heard about you before.” she said with a chuckle, and how he had been really messy, but still a good prefect. “My name is Ellie Huxley.” she said with a sweet shrug. “What are you studying today?” she asked.

"Really...?" That wasn't what he was expecting to hear. "Good to meet you."

He showed her his transfiguration text book and put it on the desk, as well as all the essentials required for studying: papers and quills and ink and things. For a short while he was quiet, but something was playing on his mind about her.

"... This might sound strange. But you really look like someone from back home. Or... Is it something else? I can't work it out..."

Why did he think of the Muggle world when he looked at her?
