Love Left Unsaid (Hermione)

He was feeling down in the dumps now that it was nearing Valentine's Days, and he hoped that Mrs.Granger would be of help to an old man. His late partner hadn't left his mind and the house was just starting to feel super lonely without his presence again. Even if it had been five years, but it was a long time and no one ever truly got over their lovers that way.

Standing outside the door, he got onto the closest chair, and knocked on the door. Hopefully someone would come and he could talk about his problems.

Hermione was in her office reading a lifestyle magazine; it was one of the things she did when she had nothing to do but didn't want to get too absorbed in case someone came by to speak or something came up requiring her energy.

Hearing a knock, she closed the magazine and tucked it away before answering it. "Hello, Filius! Come on right in! Do you want me to make some tea?"

It was a weird thing calling one of his old pupils by her own name. She was older now and it was hard to believe she was his age when he was teaching her. The man entered the office, and he gave a nod to those words, "I'd really love some tea, Hermione. Valentine Days are reminding me too much of him. I miss him so much and it's hard with our grandkids now in school." he sighed.

"Any particular tea? I have many options on the shelf over there," Hermione responded as she briefly pointed to the bookshelf that was under her magical instant kettle.

Sympathetically, she nodded as she listened to her former professor. "Holidays without a loved one is always tough. I know it took me time to restore my parents' sense of self so they could be in my life again..." Hermione was grateful her children were able to meet her parents at least.

"What is the most soothing?" he asked hoping she had some Chamomile. That was a good tea to really make anyone feel better. He did love a good tea.

He gave a hug nod to those words, "They are, and I don't really think about it. It's just when you are with someone for so long, you never imagine life without them. Also I did teach you well with that Obliviate Charm." he said giving her a soft smile. Even if it was back then he'd properly not advise it, but it was dark times and she did what she do to.

"I have lavender, valerian, chamomile, and lemon balm," Hermione replied as she pulled out those boxes of tea bags; she had bought them from muggle stores as she liked how convenient they were for her office setup.

She started boiling the water so all she would have to do was pour it once Flitwick chose a flavor. "That's why it's so important to have a support system. I'm glad that the family I've married into is quite huge so there's always someone to go to."

Filius ear perked at the idea of Valerian, "Could I make some of that Hermione." he said as he got up and waited to be directed with the tea. He sighed at the thought of a support system, because he did and he was still always sad. "I just felt like I could have done better. We were together in the prime of the wizarding world and I was always busy." he sighed as he thought about their marriage. He could have been better a husband, and now his spouse was gone.

Hermione nodded as she got out one of the teabags to put in a mug. It wasn't long until she served Filius his tea. "It is hot, so I suggest a cooling spell first."

She took her seat and listened to him. "You shouldn't give yourself a hard time over it. He obviously loved you very much even through all of that."
