Christmas time, mistletoe and wine. But preferably beer.

Fred loved coming home to The Burrow for Christmas. For their celebrations, all the extended family and friends were invited for an evening of food, drink and games. But, usually, those games went awry and usually ended up becoming general tomfoolery that the Weasley-Potter family were renowned for.

Grandma Molly had gone full out on the decorations that year: the Burrow was decorated to the last inch of available space, and even when there wasn't anymore, there were decorations on decorations. The table was laden with a feast, and drinks were flowing. Fred grabbed another beer as he turned up the stereo he had bought from Soho.

It was supposed to be Christmas carols and light music playing in the background, but Fred had opted for a different kind of vibe.

"Change my pitch up! Smack my bitch up!" He danced, beer in hand, wondering how long he would get away with it until the grandparents told him off.

Fred looked like a goalie defending his post, side stepping left to right, and frantically tried to catch the chip inside of his mouth. Unfortunately, it fell on the floor. Picking it up, he dusted it off on his jacket before eating it.

"Five second ru--" His expression went a little contorted as he chewed, very slowly. Grabbing his beer, he washed it down. "Yeah that was er. Pretty good." Lies lies lies.

Cherry smiled widely when Louis saw her. She wrapped her arms around his waist as he greeted her. Ooft. Maybe he should speak in French to her more often...

Act normal. Act normal. Cherry bit her lip somewhat nervously.

"So, this is your family?"

They were wild. Definitely more free than hers was.

Molly was basically observing what was going on after getting beer can and the music was turned down by her aunt. She wondered if she should try to interact with her crazy family more. The girl just decided to sit down to armchair in the room. She even saw soon Louis's girlfriend here. Someone she didn't expect to see here. She was different from Carina for sure she had to admit.

Molly just decided not to go crazy this year. She looked at Victoire mushrooms even and sighed. She never liked them. They taste odd.

Domonique smiled and hugged her brother once her arms were free from the load, "Petit frère! Tu m'as tellement manqué." When he dragged her over to meet his girlfriend, she smiled, "Nice to meet you. Dont let them freak you out. Were all a close knit family. They're weirdos, but harmless." She ruffled Louis hair and laughed

Javier had not been sure about joining the Weasleys for their family celebrations. But it seemed that Dominique had invited he and Claudia both... And his other siblings had opted to stay at school for the holidays with their friends. So, he had agreed. He just hoped that he wouldn't be imposing on their family gatherings. He obviously knew nothing of the Weasleys as a family.

He arrived using the floo, going to the address that Dominique had given them, knowing that Claudia would be following closely behind.

The first thing that he noticed when he arrived was the sheer number of decorations all over the whole place, along with the number of people crammed into the one place. Then he saw Dominique. He approached her, knowing she hadn't seen him yet and picked her up from behind, spinning her around once before placing her back on her feet with a laugh. He was obviously in a very good mood today and it showed. He nodded a greeting to the others nearby, namely two students from Hogwarts who had been talking to Dom.

Claudia followed her brother through the Floo network to the house where Dominique had told them to meet her. She was a bit surprised by the number of people there. She had thought that their family was large but their family was nothing compared to this! She saw her brother and Dominique and approached them, she knew no one else there, so it seemed the safest thing to do.

Rose was super excited to be able to spend time with her family. Christmas was her absolute favorite holiday because all of the Weasley clan got together at the burrow and enjoyed the day together. Rose loved it. She loved her cousins and her entire family, really. So, when she walked in, there was a big smile on her face as she looked around to try to figure out who she should greet first.

Domonique squealed as she was suddenly picked up and spun around, "Javi!" She smiled as she was put down and hugged him, "You made it." She then saw Claudia and hugged her, "Its good to see you both." She took Javier's hand and smiled, "Merry Christmas."

Louis beamed at her.

"Yes, this is us. Well most of us. There are more yet to come."

He was glad that Dominique was so enthusiastic about greeting Cherry, and made her feel welcome. When some of Dominique's friends showed up, Louis was quite surprised to see the Hogwarts Professor - Professor Morais, swinging his sister around in glee. He knew that they were together, but there was something strange about seeing it.

Louis turned to Cherry. "It feels like the whole of Hogwarts is here."

"Ah look, it's Cherry!" Fred pulled her into bear hug without warning, and left her with a bottle of beer. "Lookin' good, lookin' good. And Rose!"

He pounced on Rose next, pulling her into a tight hug. "No beer for you lassie!" He said out loud, then nudged her and whispered: "But if ya want I'll give ya some, just sip it in the loo and nan will never know." Laughing, he hopped onto Dominique.

"Domino! And... bloody hell. Morais? What you doin' 'ere?! I object. Kiddin'." He sniggered, then looked at Claudia. "Oh, aye, who's this then?" He asked keenly, leaning up against Dominique and taking a swig of his beer.

Cherry smiled as she was suddenly pulled into a hug and given beer.

"Is your family always this enthusiastic?"

This Christmas already seemed better than the ones she's had since she was young.

It was a flurry of activity as they had arrived. It was a bit overwhelming, but Claudia took it all in stride with a smile on her lips. It seemed like so much fun, if only she actually knew any of these people so that she actually felt comfortable. "Merry Christmas to you too!" She said to Dominique. Then just like that, it seemed like the welcoming committee was rolled out and Fred was greeting them all in turn, her being the last one. It made sense, she was probably the only one that no one here aside from Dominique knew. "I'm Claudia, I work with Dom." She said as she brushed her hair back. She was thinking she just might need one of those beer that he was sipping on. "Where can I get one of those?" Maybe she should have brought her own?

It was a little odd seeing so many students from Hogwarts here in this much more casual setting, though Javier had never been much of the stickler for things being rigid and strict anyway. Unless it was a matter of safety. Then he made sure his students knew why they had to adhere so fully to his rules. He had placed Dominique back on her feet after spinning her then kissed her quickly, so as not to embarrass her if she were the type to not want such displays of affection in front of her family. Then Fred was there talking about objecting to his presence and he laughed heartily, knowing that he was only joking around. "Good to see you as well, Fred." He liked the guy, he seemed like a fun sort. "And my little sister." he informed Fred when Claudia had introduced herself as Dominique's coworker.

Rose hugged Fred tightly as he came over to her, laughing as he whispered that he would get her a beer if she really wanted one. "I think mum might kill me if she caught me sneaking off to the loo to drink." Probably not, but she knew that her mother wouldn't be happy, so she passed anyway. Then she moved over to Louis and Cherry and smiled up towards them. "Hi, guys!"

Domonique smiled and kissed Javier back briefly as everyone greeted her guests, "Dont worry. They're harmless. And Freddy, you play nice, dont make me put you in a choke hold." When claudia asked for a beer, she nudged Fred, "go get us one yeah?" She took Javiers hand in hers and smiled up at him.

"Ya sister? Nice t'meet ya Claudia. I'm Fred, Dom's favourite cousin."

Fred didn't need telling twice, as soon as she asked where to get one he'd already put a finger up and turned sharply, walking into a chair in the progress. He grabbed a few beers and made way back to them, breathlessly, handing the first to Claudia, the second to Dominique, then the last to Morais.

"Look at all the teenagers here now. Remember when I used to dress as Santa, Dom? When the younger ones were little? They didn't have a clue it was me!" Except they all did know it was Fred. It was very obvious. "So, what ya get me for Christmas Claudia?" He teased, chuckling.

The Burrow quickly got overwhelming with everyone that had arrived. This had to be the most guests this family has had in a while! When Hermione noticed Fred passing beers to everyone, she tapped him on the shoulder. "Eh hem."

James stayed back to watch all of the greetings. It was starting to get too crowded for his liking; it reminded him of being stuck in the infirmary bed. He decided he was going to go outside for a bit to destress.

Domonique smiled and took the beer, "Thank you Fredward. I'm pretty sure some of them knew it was you." When she saw Hermione, "Aunt Mione! Ita so good to see you." She said as she hugged her aunt. "We are old enough to drink now, you know." She then looked back at Javier, "Oh, introductions. Aunt Mione, this is Javier Morais. Hes the care of magical creatures professor at Hogwarts, and my boyfriend. And this is Claudia, his sister and my apprentice. Well, more of partner now."

A lot quickly happened since she threw some mushroom chips to Fred; there was so much to respond to!

Oooh, there's Dominique and her invites. "Sissyyyyyyyyyyyy! Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!" Victoire ran up to her and gave her a real tight hug in between all of the madness.

"Baby brotherrrrrrrrrrrrrr! This must be yer girlfriend, right?!" She was so happy for him! He seemed happy, so she was. Victoire slightly punched his arm with her elbow. "Bill can hook you guys up if you wanttttttttttt."

There were still so many more people to say hi to!

"Yes, they are all very lively," He answered, laughing.

Rose approached them and Louis beamed at her. "Hello, Rose. Happy Christmas," He said, giving her a little hug. No doubt she already knew Cherry and their relationship, so there wasn't much point of having an introduction.

Then his sister, Victoire, came up to them. "Yes, this is Cherry. Cherry this is my oldest sister, Victoire. I--" Victoire nudged him, and Louis got the hint. In a low voice he said to Cherry: "I've something to tell you about that, later." Referring to Bill and the arrangement he had with Vic.

"Did you invite Scorpius, Rose?" Louis asked her, smiling.

"Where's Potter got to?!" He suddenly said, looking around and not seeing James. There were several of the Potters there, of course, but James was always just 'Potter'.

Just when he contemplated this, however, there was a very pointed cough from behind him. Fred turned, grimacing, to look at Hermione.

"Ah, Hermione! Hello! Christmas!" It was just a random assortment of words really. Luckily, Dominique stepped in. "Yep, just for us adults, 'Mione. Solemnly swear, cross my heart and hope to die." He made a cross over his chest.

She raised an eyebrow in piqued interest to Louis' whisper. Was this the surprise he had been hinting about recently?

"Oh, I think I know Victoire." Know being used relatively; Victoire was an upperclassman she only ever saw in common areas.

"Hi, Rose," Cherry greeted. She didn't know what much else to say as she probably heard too much in the halls.

Javier took the beer as it was offered to him and then smiled when Dominique had introduced him to her aunt. "Good to see you again, Mrs. Granger" He said, they had met at the school when he had first started but he didn't know her on a personal level at all. Though, she had always seemed like a friendly enough person. He twisted the lid off of the beer then and took a drink, his free arm moving around Dominique after her sister had greeted her. He nodded a greeting to the other blonde then just that quickly, she was off. Well, she was definitely lively, wasn't she?

Rose hugged Louis for a moment and then smiled to Cherry in greeting. Of course, she knew of Louis and Cherry's relationship. It seemed that the whole school knew about them by now. "Hi, Vic!" She said in greeting to her overly excitable cousin as the girl greeted Louis and Cherry. It wasn't uncommon for Rose to be overlooked, she did tend to be off in her own world a lot anyway.

When Louis asked about Scorpius, Rose nodded. "I did. He said he would try to come but he wasn't sure if he could." In a way, she hoped that her friend would come. Most of her cousins were at least a few years older than her and it would be nice to have someone her age to talk to. And she always loved having Scorpius around anyway.
