Unlike his Father and his sister, Amara, Alyn was probably the shyest of the Jordan troupe.

As a child he preferred to be in the confines of his bedroom, usually drawing elaborate cartoon caricatures of his own family members. He seemed to have inherited a natural talent for art, and one of his favourite things to do was create cartoon flip books. One day when he was seven years old, he was busily perfecting a one-hundred page flip when the cartoon on the first page magically sprung to life, and animated his vision before he finished the last page.

It actually took out some of the fun of it.

Alyn went to Hogwarts believing that he wouldn't like it. For the first few years, he didn't. He had very little interest in anything magical, despite being a wizard, and merely wanted to spend all of his Hogwarts years in the abandoned art classroom. The majority of the boys he shared a dormitory with didn't like him: they thought he was weird, and quiet, and socially inept. He didn't even like seeing his own sister, as her escapades and behaviour, to him, were very unsettling.

But as his home sickness wore off and he began to feel fed up with his sheltered existence, Alyn realised that he desperately needed a friend. Slowly but surely, he began to integrate himself into socialising, and knew exactly how much he was missing out on.

One person said that he could consider being a portrait artist, or an animated cartoon artist for print. Once he began looking into it, he started taking interest in classes relevant to the profession. Then, soon enough, his interest branched into other areas of those subjects, then newer subjects entirely.

By fifth year, Alyn had left his former self well behind.

Now in his sixth year, he has a lot more confidence. But sometimes, at crucial moments, he slips into a bout of shyness and social anxiety. There is still a very big part of him that just wants to be that boy locked up in his room, sheltered from everything but his art.
