Long Time No See (Balin)

Esme found herself heading towards the ice maze, it looked to be fun and her and her friends ran into it without thinking. The kids were having fun until somehow Esme lost her way inside and couldn't find her friends. She looked around calling out their names as she walked. The young red head didn't want to get lost but she did, hopefully her friends went to go get help or came to find her. This is not how the night was supposed to go, she wasn't paying attention and she ended up slipping and falling on her back. She groaned in pain, stupid ice.

Balin had been walking through the maze having come to the whole event because his boyfriend had insisted. His biggest hope during the whole thing was the neither of them managed to run into his father.

The couple ended up finding themselves in the ice maze because it looked like a better place then most to hide away from him. It was in there that the couple got separated as Balin heard a blast from his past.

The voice he heard calling names, while slightly older, was almost as familiar to him as his own. For a moment he forgot his fear of running into the man he had been hiding from for all these years as he made his way through the ice maze trying to reach. He could only hope his memory of his baby sisters voice was leading him wrong and it was some stranger he was about to walk up on.

His eyes caught her just as she feel on her back and he couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle as he moved forward, freezing mid step for only a moment as he drew close to really know that it was the same little girl he had know 5 years ago.

When he reached her he held out a hand to help her up. He wanted to pull her into a cuddle with it too, but he wouldn't. He couldn't be sure how she would react. He remembered to well the little girl who had watched him leave and he couldn't be sure what lies their father might have spun to her. She was still at a rather impressionable age after all.

"Its been to long Ezzy", he stated simply with a smile. He remember all the letters he had sent over the years, never really giving up, even if he knew they would never get through their father. He hated to admit that he had lost track of her age though.

Esme felt like she was going to be extremely embarrassed if any of her friends found her but when she heard a voice.. A familiar voice speak to her, Esme looked up and seen someone she didn't think she'd see for the rest of her life. Esme heard the familiar nickname and had tears in her eyes before she stood up and hugged her big brother. "Balin! I missed you so much!" Esme was happy to see her big brother.
