Iris was mindlessly skating around the make-shift rink trying to distract her mind from the vicious news cycle the year had started with. It just felt off. She really didn't know how to explain it, but she couldn't help but wonder why. Why did it have to happen? Why did the year have to start like this? The possibility that her life was at risk scared her and challenged what she knew about mortality.

"How are you holding up? I feel as if my world is about to collide."

Keelin wondered how Iris convinced him ice skating would be fun, however he decided that he would join her. To his surprise it wasn't that hard to stay upright and was gliding smoothly beside her, hearing her as how he was holding up he just shrugged, death wasn't new to him and frankly really did not bother him much that Hermione had passed.

"I mean it does feel like everything is different, that there is something out there that wants to take us down a dark twisting road without any lights to light our way," he replied to her, he was just happy to be able to spend some time with his girlfriend, and wished that they could not think about the recent events.

"It's just... I don't know. It's just tragic." For a date, Iris was a bit too mellow. She was under the weather as she just couldn't believe something like that happened.

Iris glided around as she took a hold of Keelin's hand. "How fast do you think we can spin?"

Keelin looked at Iris as she seemed to try and distract them, "I don't know should we find out?" He asked, wondering again how lucky he was to have been her's for a year now, taking her other hand so they were facing each other, and he started to spin them around in a circle, slow at first but gradually increasing the speed.

"Yeah!" she answered with a smile on her face.

As they began spinning around, Iris giggled. "How fast can we go without feeling queasy?"

Keelin smiled as he heard Iris giggle as they spun around, hearing her next question he increased their speed just a little bit, "Are you still feeling alright, should we go faster?" He asked her while studying her face trying to get a feel if she was feeling anything yet, and trying to read her.

"I'm feeling great! Let's go faster!"

This was quickly taking her mind off of her worries; she needed to have pure fun like this all the time during the winter months. "Are you looking forward to your OWLs?"
