Happy New Year! ((Main Thread))

First topic message reminder :

Hermione had volunteered to continue the preparations and run the New Year's festivities to allow the new administration time to continue adjusting to their new roles. She was helping to make sure the giant snitch would be functioning once it was time for the countdown.

Around Hogsmeade, there were bunch of kiosks selling 2021 merchandise along with plenty of food stands to satisfy appetites. Hermione was very excited to be able to spend yet another year with her loved one and helping others out.

Blanche had seen Albus, Darcy and Fred heading towards the back of the stage area. Instead of running around frantically trying to find out where James could be, she followed them. Anyone and everyone that she asked didn't give her an answer: they were all frantic, searching for their loved ones and relatives and ensuring they were safe.

No one knew where James was.

Desperate, she followed the two Weasleys until she saw James beyond some Ministry officials.

"James!" She cried.

James turned away from the body once he heard Fred and, soon after him, Blanche. His face was flushed from all the tears that flowed down his face. A feeling unfamiliar to him.

"I should've known better..."

He sniffled trying to not be as much of a mess and finally let the Ministry officials take the body to the mortuary.

James moved to see Blanche and gave her a hug as he resumed crying into her shoulder.

A prickled feeling of harrowing passed over her. She was sure that Hermione’s body was being lifted and taken away, although she could only see part of it. She wished that she’d never looked. James approached her and she knew immediately that he’d witnessed more than anyone else.

Blanche hugged him. She looked at Fred and Albus while she hugged him. She held him tightly, not knowing what else to do.

He felt a strong sense of unease and horror surrounding the area. It had hit him that she was truly dead, but he still managed to keep his mind focused on the present.

”There’s a network at the pub,” Fred told Blanche, gently. He implied that she should start encouraging James to the Three Broomsticks. ”James. She can come with us, if you want.”
