Pre-Season Dance (Main Thread)

Ever since Hogwarts decided to expand its athletics options with a new gymnasium, Camille was ecstatic to be able to have another venue to increase house and school spirit; it only made sense to officially inaugurate the gym and quidditch season with a semi-formal dance so all of the students can have fun and be excited for the main event of the school season: the House Cup competition. The gymnasium was adorned in pennants of all of the house colors, a impromptu photo booth with props, a refreshments table, and mini games set up outside of the gymnasium entrance.

She stepped up to the portable podium in a sparkly mini-dress and waved at all of the students who were at the dance. "Hello, students! It's so lovely to be gathered here right in our brand new gymnasium for a night of safe fun! Everyone is looking forward to the quidditch season, and I'm so happy to announce that we'll be having a friendly game soon between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff as a way to launch the season! It won't count towards the House Cup, but it'll be an excellent display of sportsmanship for all of us to emulate! Have fun!"

Narkissos sat on one of the open bleachers drinking a cup of yet-to-be-spiked punch; as he was one of the prefects put on patrol, he couldn't necessarily spend the night enjoying himself. On the other hand, this will give him a good chance to observe any potential pockets of drama to later discuss with Faye in the tub. It wasn't that bad of a situation to be in now that he thought about it. He would call someone out for wearing jeans if it came down to it. People see the semi and forget about the formal. It was annoying.

Hermione decided to volunteer as one of the chaperones so she could ensure that her children and nieces and nephews were enjoying the party and not getting themselves into too much trouble; she was grateful that she decided to become a counselor at Hogwarts instead of remaining Minister so she could spend more time with her family. Standing near the photobooth, she looked around to see if any of her relatives would like to take a photo or two with her. She'd love to frame them for her office!

Rowan stared at the enchanted blaring wireless and the brightly coloured flashing lights. A patrolling prefect sat on a bleacher sipping punch, and a bushy haired chaperone laughed and smiled. In the middle of the room, couples danced happily, some wearing casual T-shirts and jeans, others long flowing dresses or sharp cut suits. Rowan's inconspicuous outfit of a short forest green dress and fishnet tights made her look pretty enough but not so much that people seeked her attention. Her position half behind the curtains on the balcony let her survey the action. A couple began to kiss, two teenage girls, and Rowan smiled. A man in a smart navy suit twirled a woman under his arm, while two teenage boys danced carefree together. Suddenly she felt an urge to rush down into the partying crowd and bolted down the creaking stairs. The redhead half tripped down the last few in an overexcited way, when she saw a beautiful girl in the shadows. She reminded Rowan of a quote she had once read, from the philosophical Renaissance period. O divine lineage in mortal guise. The teenage girl wearing a royal purple dress that complimented her hazel eyes and blonde hair gestured to her, and Rowan weaved her way through the oblivious partiers. The redhead met the blonde, and immediately they both smiled simultaneously.
