It's Nott Christmas without you (Nott family/guests)

Alayna woke up on Christmas morning and stretched her body out a bit. She smiled At the fact that Dagger would be visiting today. She was excited as she was starting to miss him. She got out of bed and put on the outfit her mother had chosen for her to wear for the day. She walked to her brothers room and knocked on the door, "Atticus? You up?"

Dagger woke up and knew that he had to go to the Nott house today, he never told his father about Alayna because it was none of his business, now his younger brother knew about her. The Slytherin got dressed into black pants, a dark green button down and his leather jacket and grabbed Keelin's bookbag where he had his gifts and a change of clothes just in case. The Slytherin walked downstairs and out the door. His father had set up a portkey for him since his father thought he was going to a friend's house. He touched the boot and before he knew it he was in front of Nott Manor. Dagger walked up to the door and knocked on it.

When the door bell sent a melodic, yet slightly harrowing note through the manor; Ridley the house elf was ready to answer it. Ridley was a young female elf with long, thin ears pinned back against her head, and almond-shaped, blue eyes. She was wearing an old, fluffy towel with a floral sort of design in dusky pink. Of course, it looked as though it was ripped and stained and worn.

"Greetings, young sir," She said politely, curtsying to Dagger Vettel. "Would you come inside?" She stepped back and bowed her head to allow him entry.

Meanwhile, Daphne was in the entrance hallway adjusting one of her bracelets in the floor-length mirror. She turned her head very suddenly when the boy arrived, and her look of wonderment soon became a very gracious smile. She walked up to him. Her heels clopped over the floorboards, but they were mostly covered by her long dress.

"Thank you, Ridley. You may return now." She said kindly to the elf, and she dipped her knees again and hurried back to the kitchen. Daphne looked at Dagger, and she was still smiling. "You must be Alayna's young man. Dagger, is it? I'm Mrs Nott, Alayna's Mother."

Dagger waited not very long when a house elf answered the door and curtsied, Dagger nodded and came in. The door closed and he was soon coming face to face with Alayna's mother. He had to admit he now knows where Alayna got her good looks from. "Pleasure to meet you too, yes I am Dagger" he introduced.

Alayna heard Daggers voice from the foyer and rushed to the stairs. She looked down at the room from the top and smiled when she saw him. "I see you made it." She said as she walked down the steps "I knocked on Atticus' door. He didn't say anything. And I haven't seen Theodore yet." Alayna was still made at her father and was not exactly speaking to him. She walked over to Dagger and kissed his cheek "Merry Christmas."

Dagger saw his girlfriend coming down the stairs and he couldn't help but smirk. "Hey you and you call your father Theodore?" He was highly confused.

"I do when I'm mad at him. Which I am. I'm still pissed off from that afternoon tea I told you about." Alayna stuck her nose up in the air and sighed "Ridley!" She called out and the house elf appeared. She looked at the tiny creature and smiled "Can you make me a cup of tea? And anything our guest would like."

"He's very charming, Alayna."

She watched as her daughter greeted him.

"Your Father is in the cellar. Please don't be mad with him for too long, and watch your language sweetheart." Instead of the demanding way her husband usually said things, Daphne spoke to her children with great patience and fondness. She sounded more like a caregiver whose primary concern was their well-being, not her reputation. "He will be along soon enough." She assured Dagger, as though he was dying to meet him or something.

"Let's go into the living room."

Alayna nodded when her mother said Dagger was charming, "He can be at times." She shit Dagger a wink then turned back to her mother, " He's always in the cellar." She said Inna pout and followed her mother's instruction and went to the living room. She took a seat on the couch and hoped Atticus or her father would be along soon

He was glad to see the face of his girlfriend. He grabbed her by the waist and kissed the top of her forehead before looking at the house elf. "Just water" he wasn't in the mood for anything more then water.

They went into the living room and he sat down on the couch and pulled Alayna with him and wrapped his one arm around her.

Daphne sat down and watched the young couple before her with a warm smile set on her features. She thought how nice it was that Dagger showed his affection like that. Theodore was never as warm: in fact, he always remarked at how it was inappropriate for them to do anything like that in public. Daphne seemed to be looking at them with a sort of longing in her eyes.

Daphne!

She heard her husband's voice call out to her. She shook herself from her thoughts. "Oh, that's your Father. Please excuse me a moment," She quickly shuffled out the room: "Theodore, dear?"

Where is that unruly elf?! Do you have her occupied again with your frivolous needs?!

"Theodore, please. Our guest has arrived..."

"Where?" He asked shortly, adjusting his tie.

In the living room, dear.

Soon after, Theodore had opened the door to the living room and looked inside. There was a boy who looked like a complete ruffian, with his arm around his daughter. His eyes told of his contempt. "So you're Vettel's son, are you?" He shot at him, "Stand up, and sit over there, please." He indicated an armchair opposite to Alayna.

Alayna smiled when Dagger kissed her forehead and followed him to the living room. When he pulled her down beside her, she rested her head on his shoulder. She was happy he was there. When she heard her father's voice echo through the house, she froze. She was really nervous about Dagger and her father meeting. When Theodore ordered Dagger to sit elsewhere, she narrowed her eyes at him, "I think he's comfortable right here, Theodore. As am I."

Alayna froze when her father asked if they needed to have another talk. Her heart beat increased and she was practically Shaking with fear. She knew when she had 'talks' with her father it never ended well. She bit at her lip and moved slightly away from Dagger and then looked down at her lap, "No sir."

Dagger heard a male voice and watched as Alayna's mother walked out of the room and then in came a male who definitely looked like Alayna. He now knew who Alayna looked like. "Yes sir I am Vettel's son" he replied. When he was instructed to move to a different chair he watched the exchange between Alayna and Theodore and he watched as his girlfriend shrunk a little bit. "No need to have another chat or what not, I'll move just so my girl doesn't feel uncomfortable" Dagger moved to the chair and looked at Theodore waiting for what would come next.

Theodore was probably the only one who was content. His position as head of the family had been established, and now everyone was acting accordingly under his roof. Daphne sat next to Alayna and held her hand in what she probably thought was discreetly; but Theo had noticed. She was far too soft with her children.

He sat down on 'his' chair.

"What does your Father do?" He asked the boy, and it seemed the interrogation had begun.

Alayna frowned when Dagger moved seats. She hadn't seen him since school and she missed him. She looked up at her mother, her emotions evident on her face. She then looked back down at her lap. When Ridley returned with their drinks she smiled softly at the small creature, "Thank you, Ridley" she took a sip of her tea and watched her father carefully.

Dagger watched as Alayna mother sat down next to his girlfriend and then looked to Theodore who began talking to him. "He works for the Ministry. He is head of a department. He even co-owns a business with his friend but its not up and running yet so I have no idea what it will be" Dagger answered.

"Oh, you're that Vettel's son."

There was a vague sort of approval somewhere in that sentiment.

"And your Mother?"

This really was an interrogation.

Alayna was curious as to what answer Dagger would give her father. Even though she had only been with Dagger for a short while, she had never heard him mention his mother. Not once. She just figured he didn't like to talk about it, "Dagger doesn't talk about his mother." She said in a soft voice. But she knew Theodore would pick up on it, he always did.

When he mentioned that he was that Vettel's son, Dagger simply nodded his head. "Yup" Dagger responded. When asked about his mother, he bit the inside of his cheek before answering the question. "She was murdered along with my younger sister" Dagger answered.

To say alayna was shocked by her boyfriend's answer was an understatement. She kind of felt like a shitty girlfriend because she didn't know about that. But at the same time, he had never told her. She looked at Dagger and all she wanted to do right then was hug him, "You never told me that."

Dagger looked at Alayna and saw the reaction he knew he was going to get when he ever told her. When she said how he never told her that, he couldn't help but sigh before clearing his throat. "I didn't tell you because I didn't want the damn pity look you're giving me now. It happened when I was nine, it's not a big deal, I don't like being pitied" Dagger replied, he didn't mean to come off as harsh, he just didn't want to talk about his mother and sister when today was supposed to be about spending time with his girl.

Something in Theodore's expression changed, but it was painfully slight. He didn't like the idea that he was feeling empathy for Dagger Vettel, but it may be so. His own Mother had died when he was young, and that was the reason why Theodore had no siblings. Instead of saying anything, however, he merely nodded.

"Daphne." He said all of a sudden.

Daphne, who had her hand over her mouth and was spluttering something about how awful Dagger's situation was, looked at her husband.

"Go and see where that wretched boy has got to, will you? He should be down here." Of course, he was talking about his son, Atticus. Then, when Daphne left, he turned to Dagger once again.

"I want to say this now. I don't rather like the look of you, but you seem sincere enough," He said this rather coldly, "What are your plans for after Hogwarts?" The interrogation continued...
