Bonnie was beyond mad that Jeneva Avery got the news about her own sister before her. This was insanity, that girl didn't have right to reveal the dirt on her sister. That was Bonnie and Marilyn's job, and she knew those Slytherins would come up with some story to help Luna play it off. It's what they did, but this was news, and now Bonnie and Marilyn were finding out, she stormed into the great hall and over to the Gryffindor table.

"Avery took the perfect story from us. That little weasal." she sighed. This was very unkind of her, but Bonnie liked gossip and this was a big deal to her. "Why do Slytherins ruin everything?"

She sat not caring if a Gryffindor looked at her. They were in public.

"I can't believe it either!" Ugh! Her mum edits the Daily Prophet! Wasn't it obvious that she was supposed to be the one gathering all of Hogwarts' hottest scoop? Why did that bitch Avery get it over her and Bonnie?

Marilyn was angrily scribbling on an empty page in her notebook. "Because that's all they ever do! They're slimy snakes! Ewwww!"

Bonnie sat down in disbelief and anger. That girl probably wouldn't be smart enough to get the facts straight. She was sounding very non Hufflepuff right now. Although she had been more a hard worker and honest in most instants of her life, but right now she was mad. She crossed her arms like a toddler who lost her favorite toy.

“I hate those Slytherins. What if we think of a story to slim them?”

She did believe in kindness, but those Slytherins had another thing coming. “We could find a story to shade The Cartwights.” she had to think of something. Sometimes kindness just wasn't needed.

Kindness was meant for everyone but Slytherin.

"We need something truthful to write about! I am on the school newspaper!"

Once she had a nugget of truth to use, then they could dress it up with sensationalism to appeal to the people of Hogwarts. "Have you heard anything new?"

Bonnie admitted she could find something truthful. “What if we talk about Atticus mysterious return? I also heard Emery had a evening date with Ethan Layton.”

Or they talk about the James story. “We could see what more we can dig. James is determined to show Luna.”

Marilyn hummed to herself then nodded. "Yes! Atticus' mysterious return would be perfect! Alayna is the Head Girl!" Grinning, she flipped the page in her notebook and got to work.

"Do you remember how many years of Hogwarts he missed?"

Bonnie didn't know much about the Atticus story, just bits and pieces she heard from Luna. But she also knew Luna would end up killing her for telling a simple story. But they needed information, and she could simply say Luna wasn't involved.

"He missed three years of school and his housemates are worried about him."

"Will they still read if it's a sob story? I want something juicier. Something that the whole school will talk about!"

Sure, a sob story could still dominate Hogwarts' corridors, but Marilyn wasn't sure how far she could take the sensationalism. She tapped her chin with top of her quill.

Bonnie had to think of something and she smirked.

“What if he was sent away to hide something?”

She did hear talks about being sent away to cure something.

She shook her head. "We already know he was sent away! We don't know what kind of school he was sent to!"

Bonnie was sort of useless when it came to news stories, but Marilyn loved gossiping with her.

Bonnie had to backtrack for a minute. “Grayson says it was authoratrian. But it wasn’t Durmstrang.”

She knew Marilyn got ambitious, and she didn’t want to disappoint her friend.

"Authoritar-what? What does that mean?" she asked, feeling absolutely puzzled.

Her mum being a reporter didn't exactly translate to cultural awareness.

Bonnie had loved Marilyn with all her heart, but she was shocked. That she had no clue what authoritarian meant.

“It means the school is military like and tyrannical.”

God she hoped Marilyn knew what tyrant meant.

She never cared to pay much attention when she was going to become a reporter through nepotism. She had all the preparation she could ever need!

Bonnie knew that it didn't mean there was a muggle gun. “There was no muggle guns. Theodore Nott is a pureblood, it just means the school tortured and scared the kids.”

“It means it was a bad school.”

"But how badly? Do we know how badly? My mum said one way to get readers is to tell them about ALL the gore!"

This could be the juicy hit she needed to start off term!

She only knew what people told her.

“But Theodore Nott is actually a very horrible man I’ve been told.”
