victim complex ((james))

Albus felt bad for being a terrible brother to James. He had been the favorite and felt that his behavior had in a lot of ways reflected his relationship. As much as he took pride in being a starboy, Albus still wanted to have a relationship with his brother since he used to worship him growing up. He just wished James wasn't such a coward at times, and last year Albus got tired of the "Woe is Me" thing with James.

He had texted his brother to bring him and his son to Honeydukes. He planned on paying for it, and wanted to be a good uncle to his son if James would have him,.

Al was actually asking to spend time with him? Huh, that actually surprised James. He had gotten used to his brother being more distanced from everyone in the house and within Britain since he attended Ilvermorny for a few months.

He dressed his son up in a cute quidditch themed outfit and apparated with him to Honeydukes, holding onto Alcathous tightly through a wrap he used to keep him close in public. Entering Honeydukes, James looked around for his brother. Where was he?

Albus looked up when he heard the pop, it was James and Alcathous. The boy looked just like his father, and he was hoping this Potter would be a much better generation. "Hey I see you brought the bouncing baby boy." he said with a smile. He wanted to make things right. "I actually wanted to buy him some baby safe suckers, if that's okay?" he said giving his brother a bright smile. "You look amazing, I think fatherhood really helped you." smiled Albus.

@James Potter

"Er, yeah, ya asked me to bring him," James responded, doing his best to not disturb the sprog too much. "He, er, uh, fell asleep while I was wrappin' him in, aye? So, er, don't be too loud. He gotta get his nap time in."

He patted his son's back, cooing to him as he took in the smells from Honeydukes. It had been a while since he'd gotten some sweets; he knew Atti would be excited to have a bunch of treats between the two of them once he's off work. "Er, I dunno if he can have that yet? He only gets to start eatin' solids this month, aye, but I can keep it until he can safely have it?"

"Er, thanks, Al," James replied, somewhat surprised. Was it because the stress and lack of self-care caused him to drop some weight? He thought he looked somewhat gaunt, like he used to when he was still actively using. With his taller frame, he felt as if he needed some more meat on his bones. 'How's it going?"

Albus was just glad that James had been willing to come and see him. They didn't have the closest relationships, and Albus going away for months didn't help either. He was back now, and he nodded. "I'm glad you did. I know you don't come around the house much anymore, and I respect that." he said with a shrug. Their father was complete utter doochebag who took his War Hero fame way too bad.

"That's fine, I'm sure we can enchant it to last a month." he said with a shrug. Wizard candy never bad if you used a charm to make it last longer. "How's Atticus by the way? I'm glad to see you found someone who loves and respects you." smiled Albus since Lien was a bit off his rocker if Albus were too be honest.

Albus gave a bit of a shrug. "I been good, I'm enjoying my new prefect role."

"Er, what d'ya mean? I'm still livin' there 'til Atti and I get a place of our own."

Damn, they were so distanced that his own brother didn't realize that they still lived in the same house. Brutal. James simply did his greatest to avoid his father as much as possible as he didn't want his son to hear any brewing arguments; he really didn't want the sprog exposed to that kind of thing.

James lightly patted his son's back and replied, "Atti's doin' well, he got this job he loves 'cause he's a chef at some schamncy fancy restaurant. He brings me leftovers a lot, it's bloody fantastic and delicious!"

"Ya are? That's good. Er, how are ya dealin' with Burke as Head Boy?" James began walking around to prevent his legs from locking; he'd rather not collapsing with Alcathous wrapped to him.
