Up all night (Rowles new years)

Alayna was not looking forward to the events of tonight and didn't really understand why Ptolemy was so insistent on having all these people over. Especially Carina. She took a breath and tried to focus on pushing her anger deep down into the pit of her stomach. She could do this for him. She could play nicely. She was brushing her hair in the bathroom and trying to stay at least a little bit positive.

The people Ptolemy had invited over for New Year's celebration would be arriving within the hour, and Alayna was nowhere in sight. She seemed to have been fairly quiet with him that day, although Ptolemy had been focused on instructing the house elf to which food, drink and entertainment he wanted in the dining room, where they would be situated for the evening. He also was making sure everything was spotless, all the right things were on show that needed to be, and that Parzival was behaving himself.

As he went looking for Alayna, he passed the main bathroom on the second floor. Catching a glimpse of her in there, he pushed open the door slowly using the edge of his knuckle, and smiled at her reflection. "What's wrong, my dear?" he asked her woefully, encircling her from behind in his arms and kissing her shoulder. "Are you upset with me?"

Alayna sighed when Ptolemy entered the bathroom. She didn't like feeling like this and she didn't like being upset with him, but she was. She set the hairbrush down and turned to face him, "Actually, yes I am. You purposefully defied my wishes that you stay away from Carina and you went behind my back. How would you feel if I did that? If I went to see Chang behind your back or something? And honestly, I wanted to spend new Year's just you and me. Now we suddenly have a house full of guests. It's just.... Not what I expected."
