To the discerning vampire, the Bloodlust Tavern could provide you with a lot more than just animal blood, as there were a few ethical loopholes they could get around to offer that service. Dartagnan was probably alone in having his drink, which had been drained by game before it had gone onto local butcheries. Some of his kind laughed at the choices he made when it came to blood consumption. Unfortunately, he didn't have the option to leave blood from his diet entirely, or else he'd wither up. That was the curse put on them from birth.

He sat at the bar, sipping his drink and keeping to himself. Although he was in a place where he wouldn't be judged as much as, say, Hogwarts, he was still very private about drinking. Every time he did, he felt a sense of guilt. He could withstand the ridicule as long as he could continue to consume this way.

They just needed to get through their education, becoming fully-fledged wizards...

Coralie had grown bored with her holidays at home. Sure, she missed her parents when she was away at school but after all of the amazing and magical things she saw at school all year long, the farm was just dull in comparison. So, she had decided to leave the farm for the day and just spend some time out in the magical world. At first she was just going to go to the Three Broomsticks or something but then she ended up becoming a little bit brave. She had heard talk of a vampire tavern in Knockturn Alley and she thought maybe now would be the perfect time to check it out! She huddled in her thick coat against the cold wind that wound through the alley until she reached the tavern.

Once inside, she looked around... Were all of these people really vampires?!? She just couldn't believe it! She spotted a guy who she had seen around the halls at school and decided to approach him. She wanted to meet all the vampires but even she had to admit this was a little intimidating! She sat on a barstool next to him and smiled shyly. "Ummm, hi." She said, knowing it was lame but what could she say? Her cheeks flushed a bit in her own nervousness and she couldn't help the way her fingers went to the hem of her sleeve to fiddle with it.

So far he had enjoyed his experience mixing with humans, and was glad to call a few of them friends. It wasn't something he had ever accomplished before. As soon as he befriended a human in the past, there was that familiar scene that greeted him several months down the line: Aramis's jaw clenched around their necks. He seemed content in making him miserable, but covered it up with well-meaning virtue.

You can't get close to them, anyway. They will never see you as one of them.

Just as he slurped his drink through the straw rather intensely, he realised someone was sat next to him. To be so distracted that he didn't detect their presence sooner!

"Hi there," he said, and some of the blood slipped out through the corner of his mouth and ran down his chin. Embarrassed, he hastily, mopped it up with a cocktail napkin and composed himself. "Er... you're a student, aren't you? At Hogwarts? I think I recognise you." He smiled slightly, keeping his mouth closed. What was she doing in here?! His eyes pivoted about warily. There were a few hunter eyes turning hungrily onto her.

Sure, Coralie was like a little lamb in the middle of a lion's den but she didn't even think of it like that. She was surrounded by vampires. What could be cooler than that? Even if as she looked around some of their stares were a little bit unnerving. She decided to just focus on the one who was right beside her. She didn't say anything as she saw the blood trail from the corner of his mouth but was actually rather fascinated as she watched it do so... Only he was quick to wipe it away and she looked back up to his eyes once more.

"Yes, I am... A student, that is. My name is Coralie." She said as she held her hand out to him. Again, she thought this might be a little awkward but how did one start a conversation with a vampire?!? It was like she was meeting her favorite celebrity in a dark bar and she just didn't quite know how to handle herself!

"Nice to meet you," he said, taking her hand and shaking it, but still glancing about at the clientele. One of them, a male like him and several centuries older, was licking his lips. He gave him a very dark look that he was not normally capable of: it was the sort of predatory glare that warded off other predators. This one is mine. Don't you dare try.

Of course, he wasn't really intending to feed from her, but it was the only way to repel those who were.

Dartagnan looked back at her, his face returned to its friendly demeanour. "I'm Dartagnan," he said, then lowered his voice slightly, inclining his head closer to hers. "You are aware of what sort of a place this is, aren't you? It's a little risky for you to be around here..."
